Uplifting talk! Having grown up in stimulating, open-minded LA in the 50’s-‘75, then taking a job in the natural beauty and space of the upper Midwest as a college professor I have felt alienated by the ultra conservative mindset of administrators and neighbors. Decided to stay because a few students seemed to need to be nurtured by alternative perspectives. Realizing I could not change my work environments I focused on what I could do and soldiered through the isolation by reading and attending workshops from those who fed my soul. Your comments of the limitations of the woman who sacrificed to take care of her mother hit home. If we dump the glorified ideal of saving the world, however, and view ourselves as a speck of a creature in this immense universe-and at the same time as a universe of organs, blood, muscles, neurons with trillions of bacteria and viruses living inside of us while the world around us complexly enables us to do our work…then we become godlike. And our accomplishments monumental.

This talk should be listened to by every intelligent, inquiring human being. Charles Eisenstein touches on subjects that effect all our lives and provides a new mythology to consider.
