In this Speakeasy talk from Wanderlust Aspen-Snowmass, author and speaker Charles Eisenstein discusses his latest novel The More Beautiful World our Hearts Know is Possible, which delves into the possibilities of human translational power. It may not be something we consciously realize, but the small choices we make each day affect the bigger picture of our lives. Each choice we make connects us to each other. Eisenstein explores what he calls the principle of interconnectedness, also known as interbeing, which states that as we become more confident in ourselves and our choices, our positivity can have a wholesome impact on the world.

As someone who became dissatisfied with life in an office, Eisenstein set out at young age to explore the world. He studied many cultures and belief systems and immersed himself with open eyes to different ways of living. His curiosity and intellect drove him to ask the big questions of human purpose and seek answers within himself and through various teachers. He continues on his path of exploration and hopes that through his work and lectures he can spread a message of positivity, humility, and confidence and inspire change for the path ahead.

Life is very interesting. it's simple at times so much so its understood through science. others through sheer silence and stillness. we grow to learn how to grow more. we fail to stand taller then any failure... life is awesome and what you make it to be.

I find him hopeful: "Like anything else that reaches an extreme, it [our civilization built on separation from each other and from nature] is crackling, it's crumbling and giving birth to its opposite... As a civilization we're at a transition in our stories, in our mythologies." In the old story we are a separate self in a universe outside our self that doesn't have the quality of self. Current myth of separation: Well-being comes from controlling the dangerous world outside of ourself. If you want to be powerful, secure, you need to control that which is outside of ourself. But, as yoga teaches, it's not about control.... And this promise of control isn't bringing the benefits it promised.
