Oates just recently celebrated, at his wife's party she planned, the billion streams of this song, commemorative plaque and all. Oates said he used to not be fond of their music being labeled "classic rock" but has learned it means that they've stood the test of time. He also was so delighted that young people continue to enjoy their music! So if you're a young person who enjoys Hall & Oates,. give this a like and let's see how many are keeping their timeless classics going.

She has great taste in music 🥰 Update: She's now requesting to listen to Hall and Oates multiple times a day. She refers to them as "Notes". When a song by them ends, she waves at the TV and says, "Bye Notes!". I've tried many different artists with her, and nothing compares to Hall and Oates. Daryl and John, you have a HUGE fan. She may only be 2, but she's thoroughly enjoying your artistry. Thank you for your timeless music♥️

That’s amazing you were working in a department store in the early 90s. I mean do you know how many serial killers were active! I mean BTK had already killed up to 6 people and would go onto kill more and not get caught till 2005. And Gary ridgeway was also underway and killed in the double digits and goes onto to kill until 2001 when he is finally caught. I mean did you hear about this stuff??

Hall and Oates was my guilty pleasure music throughout the 1970s. I was into hard rock and unwilling to admit out loud that I loved Sara Smile, She's Gone, Rich Girl, etc. Then came this song. Daryl is gleefully exploring the wild side of his vocal range, the band is tight as tupperware, and the whole thing is just joyful and great. I still love hard rock, but thanks to H&O I'm no longer too cool to love such great music as this.

Daryl Hall is the master of the bridge. Most of the time you hear a bridge section and it just sounds like someone had to cram it in there because someone told them their song had to last at least 3:30…but just TRY and find a bridge section Daryl wrote that isn’t just as good as the rest of the damn entire song. This one he plays that D minor 9th chord on the Rhodes and it’s just fkn perfect fitting. Loved this track ever since it came out when I was 10 years old. Easily my favorite duo growing up with that R&B style. Just an addition, I ONLY could stand “we are the world” just for Daryl’s verse.😂

@Luke McHugh Autotune can be used as an instrument unto itself, look at Hyperpop & "auto-crooners' of today. Plus, since when is the song good because Daryl Hall wasn't auto-tuned? No amount of talent in singing can allow you to write a good song. On top of that, there's many artists today that don't use auto-tune, it's just become a really big fad in industry pop.
