Great videos! Thank you for sharing your process. I plan to follow your videos to make a cover for my truck. BTW - as a woodworker I ran into the same issue with oil-based stains & finishes; and you can put just about anything over oil-based finishes (including a water-based top coat) if you let the oil-based fully cure.

I used to work with fiberglass repairing Corvette bodies, I always showered in cold water, rinsing first, then washing with soap, before turning on the hot water. You really don't want to open your pores with hot water first.

That bore out true with this build.

I use to work with fiberglass n it's good to wear long sleeves so you don't get any of it on your arms. Shower with hot water. Hot water opens up the pours in your skin. Doing a good job. I have a roll up cover. Like your boxes in front. May leave my toolbox n cut my cover up to it...

Thanks Rob, it's made it through one summer and one winter so far and hasn't shown any wear.

Surprised you didn't get any in arms while sanding without sleeves. Doing a good job.

Trust me, I got it in my arms. I won't make that mistake again.

Great job, those fiberglass splitters are not fun. You will probably be feeling them for a week.
