I recently upgraded my bike license I’d been riding on a full A1 license for 10 years but wanted a bigger bike, I had an assessment with a instructor he said my riding skills was perfect and at instructor level, however on my mod one test I failed for not parking in the blue cones at the end of the test, I let nerves get the better of me, luckily I nailed it on the 2nd attempt and went on to pass mod 2 on the first attempt, I was still very nervous on mod 2 and glad I had some more training before the test, it can get very expensive if you fail the tests so don’t skip any training and most of all remain calm, 🙂

Hello, I just failed my mod 2 as a car illegally pulled in front of a bus at the last second at some lights on a roundabout which made the bus stop and the lights change. This meant I was close to a keep clear road marking which had no visible start and end lines. If I'm correct these road markings are advisory?
@RJHMotorbikeTraining3 жыл бұрын
Unlucky. Illegally or not its how the situation develops and your involvement and actions as a result pan out. Without being there I am unable to comment but the Examiner would of offered his reasoning for the fail? If not your Instructor could of? Good luck next time.

is 'straight lining' a roundabout a common term? i was told this by an examiner as a major fault on Mod 2, and most frustratingly had not been told i was doing this before test day (tho i had been working on correcting my shoulder checks for 1st 2nd and 3rd exits of a roundabout); assuming its on 2nd exit roundabouts like your example in 8:18 where the rider seems to be in neither left nor right lanes of the roundabout as there are no lane markings, so they would impede any other traffic going right on the roundabout
@RJHMotorbikeTraining2 жыл бұрын
Straight lining is a favoured option post test. Yes on your Mod 2 you wouldn’t get away with it as lane discipline is needed.

@@RJHMotorbikeTraining I'd say it's mostly i don't know how much braking i need to do before the junction. Maybe i just brake gently & pregressively after i've propositioned myself? Just unsure if that would be allowed. Idk if it would be classed as braking to early.

turning right at traffic lights what position should you be in ? middle of lane or over to the right ?
@Palmit_3 жыл бұрын
close the door. command position 3. this also lets other drivers what you intend. it's common to forget indicators, so nobody really relies on them. also being anything than right side of lane (in this case) makes your turn pretty much a right-angle. That WILL always make you wide (to the left in this case).

5:16 bus lane, says Bus, Bicycle and Taxi, Mon - Fri, 7 - 10 am, 4 - 7 pm. Does it say motorcycle is not allowed at anytime? What exactly this signalisation says for us (motorcycles) during the test?
@thomasmcloughlin25205 жыл бұрын
Any vehicle outside the times shown, 7-10am and 4-7am are the times the bus lane is operational where only vehicle types marked on the sign (bus, bicycle and taxis) some bus lanes I’ve seen in London have a picture of a motorcycle on them along with the bus bicycles and taxis which means motorcycles are allowed at any time.

I have a question, I recently passed my CBT for a 125, I was going along a road with a 40mph speed limit, the instructor insisted I go faster and was happy with me doing 60mph. The speed limit sign was very small though, but it was still a circular sign with a road rim. Just curious for another persons advice on if I was right to do 40 or if 60mph was legal? The cars in front were also at around 60 (just edging away from me slowly) but I have always understood that circular signs with red round them are mandatory, not advisory. Curious about your opinion on this, please :)

Hey Sir when the examiner asks you to find somewhere safe to pull over, will it be okay to pull up on double yellow lines?
@RJHMotorbikeTraining8 жыл бұрын
+Wise Fool I have found this to be different at different test centres and depending on the Examiner. I would always advise my pupils to ask the Examiner to clarify this in the brief at the beginning of the Module 2. It seems if the Examiner is stuck at lights for example, they (mostly) are happy for you to wait on double yellow lines, so they can keep an eye on you. However if they are following you and they want you to pull over somewhere safe, legal, and convenient then dont pull over on double yellow lines. Always best to ask.
