I was an FHP trooper for 26 years.....A truck driver helped me many times, even if i was just stuck in the muddy median strip, thank you driver for your courage and thanks to all the other respectful citizens there that day..........I am sure the Trooper appreciates it also.

@D M Do you really like to know what happened that night? My Husband and I owned a farm wich we bought with our last Dollar, it was really beautiful. Since we still worked at our jobs in the city we went almost every weekend and worked on the farm. One weekend, l was not able to get off for 2 more days,but my husband was ,l left before it got really dark. We had to cross a high pass to together home, the pass had so-called Passing lanes & I know I had one just ahead of me .l was in back of a Safeway Semi. I signaled to pass & suddenly this wonderful Trucker motioned me to stay back ,honked his horns very very loud and fast so I stayed behind him, but when the Passing lane came to my shock I saw the biggest Elk bull standing in the lane where I would have been. I never knew knew this Trucker but now after all those years I wish I would. Yes Safeway Truckers bring back those memories and I still thank them ,but most Truckers would have done the same. I just know it .

The punch should not have been thrown, however the officer could have done a better job of deescalating the situation. There was no need for the officer to initiate contact. I am not trying to justify the actions of this person, because he was clearly in the wrong - but the officer could have handled this better.

The cops are the bullies in most case's, we do not know what led to the punch, or the grab of the arm by the cop. Yes that is so true, my nephew is a state trooper, and he was telling us that, back up,,can be 25 miles away. He is a black belt in the kwo doe, karate. He has had very similar incidents on the highway making traffic stops, and thanks god he has the training he has, because there is such a shortage of troopers, help can take time to get to you. This vedio proves some people will get involved to help law enforcement. Got us teary eyed. Happy it wasn't worse.

The same should be for the reverse though. A bad cop does something absolutely against department policy and is a "bad apple" the people should do what they can to have him removed. The police need to start removing these bad apples instead of defending them. If we restructured the law enforcement in the same way. It would give us the citizens more ability to hold corrupt cops accountable. Law enforcement would still have a very small dependency on state funds similar to the ambulance service. To help cover the cost for lower income households, but the vast majority of the law enforcement income would be based on service payments. The fee would have categories based on the situation. This makes sense in my head but putting it to words it doesn't always.

Risky getting involved in that. You can end up in jail if something happens to the suspect, especially if they are the wrong color. No way the cops will help you, they will blame everything on you if something goes wrong.
