Why is it so hard for police officers to identify themselves and explain why they are there before becoming all hostile. This officer set the tone of this interaction the minute he said, " baby momma." He knew early on that they were at the wrong address, but instead of acknowledging their mistake, he continued to escalate the situation. This is exactly how things go wrong. Their egos won't let them admit they made a mistake, so instead of apologizing and moving on to where they are actually supposed to be, they continued to escalate. They are so stupid because their own body cams record their actions, but then again, sometimes that doesn't mean anything. I'm glad this it did.

@OmniscientWarrior 2 жыл бұрын
That wasn't admission of wrong address but confirmation of what the guy was stating in a more round about way. Due to how things went, we cannot be full certain that it was the wrong address, the call was done out of mistaken belief that someone drank the acetone and they won't admit they were mistaken to the cops, or if this was in fact the right address and someone did drink the acetone and just trying to cover up that fact for fear of getting into trouble and CPS getting involved. However, if things started off correctly and the cops right off the bat just started with telling the man that they received a call... and just wish to confirm that everyone there was fine and confirm this was the correct address, it may have gotten better results; but more than likely, would have left with the same amount of info as they did, but much more quickly and peacefully.

Don't you know, cops are specifically chosen based on lower than average intelligence. I mean, this is published information... Apparently intelligence makes people want to commit crimes, so only dumb people get to point guns at everyone because they don't understand enough to do crimes. Or at least that's how it's interpreted in my head. Makes complete sense if your target demographic are the chronically poor and disenfranchised. Because if dumb people aren't smart enough to do crimes, why do we need police for the uneducated poor? If smart people can't be cops because they might do crimes, then why don't the cops stop THEM from doing their daily crimes?

My father was a green beret, and had a few encounters where police tried to overstep their bounds with him. He taught me a lot about how to protect my rights and deny police abuse. He would audit his own rights frequently by sitting on the porch, cleaning his firearms and practice shooting. Our property had a large clearance from other homes, well outside the limits to allow him to discharge firearms freely on the property. Funniest thing I have ever seen is an officer getting the F out after being shown they were operating outside the bounds of the law and violating our rights and illegally trespassing.

This could have all been resolved right away if the cops just gave the reason they were there, to begin with. So many of these cases escalate, because cops just show up and start asking questions that don't make sense to the occupants, instead of stating the reason they're there.

Ikr. In so many of these videos, situations escalate when cops stubbornly refuse to answer simple questions or provide basic information on their own accord. It's all about power and authority and them trying to completely control the situation. I guess offering basic information makes them feel less in control somehow.

“Is that your baby mama” is direct disrespect to a man’s lady. The army sgt had to start the conversation defending the honor of his lady. Not a sold way to start any conversation with another man. The cop is lucky the sgt had enough wisdom to not physically whoop that ass a reminder how to talk to other men.
