Thank you so much. Most will find this boring, so what! I find these types of videos amazing. I’d love to visit all these places and drive these routes all over the world, but I’m pragmatic and grounded in the realisation that will probably never happen. However with these movies I can sit at night in the dark and download the experience into my mind to keep as a memory. After all the real roads and places I’ve been are just that now, memories. So in essence they become one in the same. Also a wee side note. So I’ve amped the speed up to X2, and it’s funny because most videos when sped up can clearly looked liked it’s getting “Fast Forwarded” but this it just looks like everyone is just going fast as balls and everyone has the most amazing reflex’s, reactions and most of all brakes. 🤣🤣 Thanks again dude!

Sometimes, I've seen snow pile up at the top of the Siskiyou Summit and Mount Shasta, as well as the Grapevine. In those cases, you'll either need to wait for the road to re-open, which usually happens within a few days, or detour to the coast (101) and use that. If Siskiyou Summit and Mount Shasta are closed, at Grants Pass, take Route 199 to Route 101; when you get to Ukiah, use Route 20 to get back into the Central Valley. Then you can merge back onto I-5. If the Grapevine is closed, at Buttonwillow, take Route 58 to Paso Robles, take Route 101 to Los Angeles, and then you can merge back onto I-5.

That's the only sad thing about this set of two videos that captured the entire trip. Frankly, I'm surprised nobody else has tried something like that before in real time. And not just for I-5, which I remember from my days in San Diego, but also other long-distance freeways like I-8, I-15, and I-95, among others. (I-10 would be harder to do because of the gap in downtown Los Angeles, though it can be done going EB, but not WB.)
@BritishMetric1443 жыл бұрын
@@cjs83172 I'm confused. Why can't you do it going Westbound, but you can do it Eastbound?
@cjs831723 жыл бұрын
@@BritishMetric144 Because there's no way to use the one mile spur between I-5 and US-101 westbound, since there's no connection from the spur to US-101 south or US-101 south to I-10 west, but there is a way to do that going in the eastbound direction via Boyle Avenue and First Street to get on NB US-101, from where you can access the I-10 spur.
