My area is hills and pebbles i tested 85 and 78a's I fell in the 85s lol the 78a's were smooth as butter and i could do everything you said more easily on the terrain. Make sure you get what you NEED for what's your going because the durameters don't always translate well with the same techniques. Thanks for this it was nicely done 😊

I really enjoy your tutorials, although I‘m still going to take my skates off for steep hills for now. I had a really bad fall going downhill too fast and almost getting hit by traffic when I was 12 or so, so I think I will stick to jam skating and flat surfaces for now. ^^ Thanks for the great explanation though! :)

how do you know what outdoor wheels are? I bought a pair second hand and i’m not sure if the wheels are meant for indoor or outdoor, i’m new to skating!
@sonyasytАй бұрын
your wheels should have the size on the side (bigger is better for stability and speed, smaller is better for footwork and dancing). but theres also another number there from about 75-100. the lower the number the softer and more rubbery the wheels are, which is good for shock absorption and running over twigs and stuff. harder wheels are for indoor skating because soft wheels have too much give to them on hardwood.

I am using your videos to relearn how to skate ( it’s been 30 years) and teach my kids how to skate. But when I was a kid, I was one of those that you couldn’t get my skates off me and the way I went up and down the stairs without a hand rail was to go sideways so that your skates are neither pointing up nor down but sideways, and then just take one step at a time bring both feet together, and then take the next step. But by pointing your state sideways, you’re not going to slip downstairs unexpectedly. So it’s kind a like you are line dancing and you step to the right-up and then feet together! step to the right-up, feet together. Step to the right-up, feet together until you get to the top of the stairs. And no shame in using the wall in front of you as a handrail.
@austinpratt192311 ай бұрын
Stepping up sideways on the stairs facing the rail is sometimes more secure.

you look at sofness that is stated on the wheel, wheel says XX mm, YYa, YYa is the number you're interested in, 85a, 80a, 78a and lower - outdoor, 85+ - indoor. stock wheels are outdoor in most cases
