I have a question: doesn't the "will to life" in almost all of us surpass any nihilism or optimism? Therefore, whether a person is a nihilist or an optimist, they are both driven to continue living due to the dictates of their deep-rooted biology. Now, how they choose to live is determined by their experiences and the knowledge they accumulate along the way of life.

I have alot of friends that love me and family and I love them too. I just don’t feel connected to anything even when I hug people I feel really disconnected. Im trying to connect to myself then to others. I lost love of my life too. One of his favorite shows was rick and morty and adventure time. Existential dread was never anything I started to experience until covid. Now it seems to be on repeat. I try to have joy. I know what it feels like. Still haven’t felt it in almost 3 years. I know that joy and happiness heals many things. People say hobbies, or some type of religion helps. Ig. I definitely feel like money is needed for at least basic needs like hygiene and looking ok. Thanks for heart warming video. Overall it feels like im learning who I am. This version of me is the most hurt.

The first person to showed me my art could be political was my printmaking professor who encouraged art representing the times. I love her

Whose culture is this originally and what are its hidden meanings? Does it build and empower others that are against you more than it builds and empowers you? Represent yourself differently from those that treat you treacherously and manipulate you. Not all things should be claimed and adapted/ adopted. Rituals are most effective for those that create and spread them as "culture" and habits. Emotionally triggering effects and programmed behavior should always be examined and questioned. Don't let feelings override the need to face reality and create the most beneficial cultures for your own wellbeing. Leave other people's rituals alone.

I’m just starting this video but that nina simone quote at the beginning - “how can you be an artist and not reflect the times?” - I was in a university class on creativity and arts last year and we were presented with this quote, and i was very frustrated with how everybody responded. Everybody completely rejected a notion that an artist could have a duty to their audience, or that the role of an artist might be so concretely defined. They all jumped to the classic individualisms that you often hear about art, that it should be at the liberty of the creator to make whatever they want and the audience, their subjectivities, their viewpoints should never be considered. Art is culture, in my opinion, and if you’re making art to express yourself rather than engage with others i think you’re making bad art. Just a tangent.

i wouldn't be jealous of self righteous folk who KNOW... often there is a large amount of setting aside challenging ideas on their part. it's almost a sheep mentality.

After watching the full video, definitely had some valid takes appreciate you making contact like this but a personal though I agree with you and from where I see the culture right now it’s necessary to talk about things like this or we’re just gonna be great blobs like the Fairly OddParents episode

So far, I really enjoyed the way that you are approaching this to get the term is our death reminds me of the term break the Internet. It’s almost a little cheesy and there’s no way Mark could ever be dead as long as there’s somebody that’s expressing themselves regardless and not.

Anthony Bourdain having left the party early does start to make sense when watching his content. Even after editing, his existentialist depression seeps through. The anger and grief are right there, made pretty and profitable for the camera. Many of his friends and people he met on travels exited the stage in gruesome ways in war zones. Of course all of that could crack someone of his temperament. It could crack so many of us.

"art" that was in any way lionized by significant financial backing (reward for the artist himself) has always served power - oil painters needed aristocrats and royalty to be patrons of their art, and in the same way the supposedly "radical" art of the mid 20th century was largely backed by capitalists and the US govt as a part of their cold war with socialism (aka governments run by and accountable to common people instead of wealthy capitalists) this is to say that art has never been the radical force for change we imagine it to be. art has always been chained, subservient, and dependent on practical action (for example, martin luther king would have been nothing without the black panthers putting action behind his words)

Girl! I can't be thankful enough for this series I just found. I did skating when I was a kid but couldn't continue my classes nor repair my broken skates, now I could finally afford my new rollerblades and I feel I need to start all over again. This is sooo helpful and will help me rebuild that confidence. Thank youu!!

I fell in love with skating after being at my friend’s party at a roller skating rink for 4 hrs just skating! It was amazing and this Christmas I asked for skates and I got them! Since then I’ve been practicing hours and just after 2hrs 20 min I know how to turn, stop, do lemon drops, and pivot thanks to KZbin! Your tutorials are amazing and thanks for teaching me and others this wonderful skill!

I think it's interesting how Charles Dickens Christmas Carol featured the character of Marley, and used him as a subject of disillusionment with materialism and wealth. Having Marley be cursed to wonder the earth with all his riches attached to him for the rest of eternity, has always been a poignant way of exploring the theme of greed. It feels like we're living in a world of our own Marley's in a way.

You have taught me so much in such a short time with roller skating and are such an awesome person! If I still believed our political system wasnt corrupted beyond repair, I would be whatvis considered conservative! I think you may be one too, I grew into it from as far to the left as humanly possible. Wisdom is often old and does not coincide with changing something that wasn't broken to begin with!

I guess nihilism is just decision fatigue from choosing to be happy everyday. If you give up choosing to be happy just for one day, I am sure you will become your childhood excited self.
