ਅੱਜ ਸਾਰੇ ਲਿਖਾਰੀ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਨੇ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਦੇ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕੋਣ ਕਸੂਰਵਾਰ ਹਨ, ਲਿਖਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਜਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਨੇ, ਇਸ ਦੇ ਕੀ ਅਰਥ ਲੈ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਜਾ ਤਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੇਚ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਿਤਕਾਰ/ਲਿਖਾਰੀ ਲਿਖ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕੇ, ਜਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕੇ, ਇਹ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੜਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਲਿਖੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ, ਜਿਥੇ ਲੋਕ ਪੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਸਨ, ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕਾਰ ਲਿਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਰਿਗ ਵੇਦ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ,ਵਾਰੇਸਾਹ ਦੀ ਹੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਲਿਖੇ ਗਏ, ਜਿਸ ਖਿੱਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਲਿਖਾਰੀ ਪੇਂਦਾ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਨੇ, ਨਵੇਂ ਦੋਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਿੰਘ, ਜਸਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਕੰਵਲ ਆਦਿ ਅਤੇ ਪੀ੍ਤ ਲੜੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦਾ ਹਰ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਲਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ, ਅੱਜ ਉਸ ਮਿਆਰ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਰਸਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ,ਸੋ ਬਾਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪ ਸਮਝਦਾਰ ਹੋ, ਚੰਗੇ ਲਿਖਾਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੋਕ ਨਹੀਂ, ਲਿਖ਼ਣ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਂ 2-3ਸਫੇ ਭਰ ਜਣੇ ਸਨ , ਬਾਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਮਝਦਾਰ ਹੋ। ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਦਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਗਿੱਲ।
