I don’t think Da ever got over Tasha yaar I mean he tried, but I don’t think he ever did and the reason is he never realized he had feelings for her and most people assume that feelings are something within the brain you know it is certain area emotional centers, whatever but the truth is far different You see feelings are an abstract that has to be learned. Data was capable of learning it. He just never realized he had it sort of the way the scarecrow never realizes he has brains or the Woodman that he has feelings I’m talking the Wizard of Oz obviously and that’s the point it’s assumed that the Woodman has no feelings because he has no heart he’s made out of tint. How can he possibly feel anything much like data And that’s where they’re wrong data does feel he just doesn’t know that he feels and that is because it’s an abstract. If you cannot understand what I’m talking about I’ll put this in a frame of mine that might help you. I’m sorry my problem is that I am physically handicapped, and I suffered some brain damage when that happened so my language centers are a little bit screwed up, if this makes sense it’s because voice to text is being kind at the moment usually it isn’t usually it makes a hash of everything I’m trying to say and put the wrong words down and spells things incorrectly so when I’m the example that I want to give you is this I had to deal with a kid who is unfortunately very high level autistic meaning that from the get-go he like to learn but he didn’t always understand things because he couldn’t always comprehend abstracts. For example, he could repeat the colors, red blue green, etc. but he didn’t understand when you showed him the colors he mimic you he didn’t understand that the colors and the name of the color went together, why because he didn’t mean anything to him he had to be shown 16 different items that were red before the lightbulb went on and he said that is red and that is red and that is red therefore red and the color equal each other I eat red is the name of the color that’s being presented And the kid was not colorblind by the way from it he didn’t understand abstract. Data has the same problem. He says he doesn’t feel if they didn’t feel he would’ve felt nothing about giving up his own child but he did feel something wasn’t just possessive my child. It was the idea That this was a part of him and yes, he did love his child. He did not want harm to come to her if he had no feelings, then none of it would’ve mattered, is unaware of his feelings, because in most cases, these are taught things we teach them to our children when they are small so that they can understand that Emotions have a name and we call these things by the name in away data is autistic. He doesn’t conceptually understand the emotions that he already has he doesn’t have the words I guess is the best way I know how to put it doesn’t understand that there are words to the emotions, nor does he have that that time the capacity to understand the emotions that he has, he makes the comment to Spock at one point that I will actually spark who makes it to him who says that he envy him his ability not to have emotion it’s something he’s been working on his whole life and data on the other hand, sees it in just the opposite and the problem is they both don’t understand emotions at all and they both have them and neither see clearly. They never got over his feelings for Tasha. He was whether he knew it or not in love with her but he did not understand that feeling only the loss of the person involved and he gains that in the last season of Picard when he becomes whole you see the problem with Laor was that he had too many feelings and jealousy was among those. He felt that data. His twin was more in many ways than him. I don’t have a word right now for that like I said brain damage however, when data gives everything up to Lore because Laor wants everything that is him. and comes to the realization at that moment that giving him all the things that matter to him will make him whole. He’s like a split personality. One gets all the emotions and one gets nothing else and yet the one that gets nothing else, except maybe the control is the one who has to accept the one that is the other half of him, they does that the end of the card and that’s what makes him whole that’s what gives him. His emotions gives him what he’s been looking for his whole life, but he always had it in essence. He is the combination of the tin Woodman and the scarecrow if they had had a kid that would be. Data. the childhood feels that they have no heart and not enough brains wrong on both counts
