I honestly like to do things 90% of things alone!! I just went to a music festival on my own last week and afterward felt a bit bad because I think some of my friends would probably have liked to come but I just thought honestly I’d rather be alone, just wander around and not have to worry about anyone else lol!!

As someone who dealt with severe anxiety, my old self would find you a true warrior. Being alone in a cinema can put a lot of pressure because you feel like you're like an animal caught in a box. I did my first cinema alone 3 years ago, my biggest challenge more than going alone to a quick meat outside, to see a movie about depression and true loneliness lol. I would have loved that someone congrats me of being brave, my friend did😂

until recently, id never went anywhere alone just because i wasnt used to it and felt it would be uncomfortable, but im getting better at it now and it's really nice to be able to take your time and enjoy yourself! it was also fun to feel like we were shopping together and i definitely see a pattern in the types of clothes you seem to gravitate towards haha, personally i think you should get one of the pastel gingham dresses they were sooo cute!

Funny thing that Mikan pointed out the link between mental illness and compulsive shopping,cuz I too have a little bit of shopping addiction myself mainly with clothes( my lolita sock collection is quite impressive even with my low-ish income .....LoL😂) and I have been diagnosed with Schizophrenia . I'm bipolar and really have to fight against compulsive shopping myself! If you buy anything just go back and buy the white skirt since you can pair with things you already have for multiple looks.

Weighing in on things to buy, from my experience a blouse that ties at the neck is a staple that goes with anything, they're my most commonly worn blouses. They layer well and can work for both cute daily outfits or can be dressed up easily if you need to look professional/grown up. But if the fabric is crisp/stiff don't get it since it would need to be ironed and will feel stiff to wear. Also that white skirt could definitely be a good staple as long as it isn't sheer. Also what can help to cut back on shopping without feeling restrictive, from a fellow impulse shopper: you can look at things but put them down and if you're still thinking about it in a few days or a week then go back for it. It doesn't feel quite like a restriction since it isn't a hard no and it helps you to only buy things that really capture your attention. Similarly for clothes or accessories, I mentally try to make an outfit with things I already have. If I can't do that then I lean towards no. You also did really well with checking the sizes on those shoes! Checking the size on something first before you let yourself fall in love can really help avoid heartache/convincing yourself that you'll deal with something that doesn't actually fit.

An easy and pretty effective method I use to put a leash on my spending habits is asking myself ‘do I like it or love it?’ If I like it then I pass (especially if it’s expensive), but if I love it then I buy it. You can add another layer to this method by asking yourself ‘do I want it or need it?’ There is very much a difference between the two. But yeah, you could give it a try and see if it helps!

Love that you're trying to be more conscious of your shopping habits! I definitely struggled with shopping addiction for a long time, and managed to get out of it with a bit of work :) if you want to shop (for clothing and shoes anyway) then second hand is a good option at least, and Tokyo is great for thrifting! I love your hair like that btw, and that cafe looked so beautiful! I think Don Don Down on Wednesday is still open in Koenji! I don't know if there are other branches, but I remember that one is in the shotengai not far from the station :) Koenji overall has such good thrift stores! In Shibuya I always liked Bingo :)

for the warmer weather cardigan thing, i really recommend looking for cotton specifically, it's a breathable natural material so it's more comfy! as for dresses, while the pink gingham one looks super cute to me >.< i would rather say something general like if it fills a gap in your wardrobe that was bothering you, then go for it! i also have issues with impulsive buying things, i started telling myself things like what if something i really love shows up later but i spent all my money on this? and i feel like that helps me a lot.

I'd love to help deciding! I find going home and looking through your closet for similar pieces and vibes is really helpful. In a way like "can I create the same outfit/same vibe I want with what I have at home". Same with inspiration online. What pops up in your saved files a lot and already for a long time, what is missing to wear that outfit with your clothes? but also, material and fit is extremely important. Going through the closet and noting everything that you tend to not wear as much and then why and acting/buying accordingly. Once you are aware of that, trying on in shops is much easier because you can check for those things and suddenly the want to get pile is much smaller haha I also started to not buy any plastic fabrics first hand, and second hand also just maybe. I want to invest in pieces that I can care for for a looong time. But that one is well hard, even without super cute fashion. I personally hate layering things that arent supposed to be worn in another way, but you could look for that too - meaning, looking how many outfits you could make it. I more look at the vibe. Does it fit my relaxed AND cute vibe? Does it fit relaxed AND preppy? preppy AND cute? ect. What season can I wear it in, and what do I usually wear in those seasons, do they go well together, can I create cute outfits with it? what is my colour palette in what season (I just noticed that one once I actively looked for it. I have a pretty distinct colour pallette each season and I didn't even notice lol) just a few examples :) Maybe for future vids, you could show us what similar stuff you have at home so we can help you decide better :) or maybe explain your vision, instead of just looking at one piece

How I started cutting down on "stuff" and shopping too much was that I took inventory of what I already had then set a limit for myself for how much of that item I'm allowed to have. If I want even 1 more, then I'll have to get rid of 1 to make space for it. You also have to take into consideration not only the price of the item you want but if you will definitely wear it instead of just wanting to have it because you like it, and if it goes with other things in your wardrobe to where you can definitely make a few different outfits with it.
