I agree. Ive never really been into the light or biracial men, maybe bc im not normally theyre type, but its also bc theyre not my type when they expect to be treated better or for me to be "submissive" or deal with any of the privilege they are used to. I notice they will expect me to expect less as a dark skin bbw woman, when im actuallg used to men takin care of me and me being their preference

Listen! These internets are going to have these dudes broke & alone pushing these stereotypes. I want to get down because of health reasons. I've had several guys, especially one Jamaican, reiterate MEN want real women. They understand life happens & if they really like they'll stick with you through every season. And be loving on you the whole time😂😂😂😂

I definitely had this experience with a Moroccan that looked like a high-yellow African American. He was entitled, thought he was the prize, and very Narcissistic. This was the first encounter I ever had and experiences of Emotional, Verbal, Mental and Psychological abuse.

You just described my child’s father and it makes a lot of sense. And yeah, he is very aware of the privilege of his lighter skin color. He is Jamaican, so he comes from a racially classist culture. They are obsessed with skin color and the upper hierarchy of the country tend to be fair skinned. 😒

This dude's advice is like astrology. Take generic attributes that apply to being careful about any and everyone, apply it to a group and watch people give it validity by relating it to themselves. You can make this exact video about men of any shade and yield the same results in the comments.

I can and can’t agree. I am in a family with lots of light-skinned men, and it so greatly depends on the person. I guess it helped for my brothers that my mom is dark-skinned (dad is extremely fair but still black and is old-school Civil Rights Southern so not passing in the slightest) so they were raised just as black people, fully aware of their privilege within the world, but conscientious and kind. Not all of the cousins are so kind, though. We’re Creole, and some of us were raised to be God’s gift, but some were raised to be actual good people. At least in my experience, light-skinned men isn’t a monolithic group, it really depends on the individual.

I have to agree with you with having a dark skinned mother. My family is the same way. I believe that that makes a variable difference.
@lydiawhite538
@lydiawhite538 Ай бұрын
Oh I definitely agree with both of you. I think you both are saying things inline with the original video too. Obviously, upbringing has a lot to do with it. I'm with y'all on having a black/darker completed mother though. I think that alone comes with a different upbringing...yielding more well rounded human beings.

I've noticed a similar thing with biracials that have a black mother compared to ones with non black ones. They're usually less troubled and don't have a god complex
@chayo4537
@chayo4537 Ай бұрын
No you're not monolithic. The irony of that statement😂 But there is a strange comment from a lighty talking about dark skinned people automatically have self hatred. Everybody talks about black people and dark skin as if we're monolithic. So when youre spoken about the same way with a narrative. You cant handle it

This is true for some but not for all. I've dated a biracial man and it was the best experience I've ever had dating. He was a gentleman, kind, a provider but I attribute that to his upbringing. His dad passed away young and he ended up becoming the protector/provider for his mother and sisters. He loved, cherished and respected his white mother but also loved and appreciated his Blackness, he didn't hate any aspect of himself. I attribute this to him being actively involved and around the Black Church with STRONG Black male influences and Strong Black Traditional families in his life throughout via his friends and the environment he was in. He was a diamond and I the only person I would have ever considered dating again.

My son’s dad is biracial, has green eyes, well built & overall really good looking & that’s one way he got me hooked when I was a lot younger. He is everything you mentioned except the enmeshment part. His mom walked out on him as a baby so that brought its own issues.

This is not a dating experience, but it was a friend who I would go to bat for whenever he asked - then I found out that he was repeatedly making jokes at my expense behind my back. That hurt so much.

I’m so sorry that you went through that 😢 I’ve gone through this very thing, except we were dating.😢 Eventually it would get back around to me of the “jokes” he made at my expense. I was never vulnerable with him again even when he was playing nice and trying to get back together. He was a biracial guy with green eyes and that situation put me off friendships/relationships for a while

YES 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 im biracial and watching this is funny because the way my mother treated my brother was so different vs how she treated me. But i also dated a biracial guy when i was younger and realized the same exact thing. Our issue to be honest was we didnt know where the hell to fit in. I had this issue is a child. I was not black enough to hang with the black kids but was not white enough for the white kids. So i was in limbo to be honest. It was the same with my ex he had to prove he was black enough but ended up with the wrong crowd and ended up going to jail because he thought they would have his back.. but they didn't. His mother was always putting him on some pedestal, but he was super troubled. My brother ended up going into the military and def has the God complex. We used to be so close but i would always call him out but his wife is (cuban/rican) has to feed his ego even tho she says she doesnt, but she does.. because whenever i come thru its tension now because he is just used to people just listening to everything he says and its crazy. But to watch it and here from someone elses pov its nice to know I'm not crazy. But i was also the scapegoat in my family and the crazy part is my parents are still together but i feel that my parents are trauma bonded and thats not a good environment to grow in either.

I am yellow skinned. There was this light-skinned and green-eyed man at work who got in my face for something I did at work. I feel that he thought that he could do this and get away with it. I brushed him off like who does he think he is? A year later, I saw him as a bus driver for the city. It was like, he was trying to claim his higher position. I was like, who cares.

I remember there was some old tiktok video of a ww talking about how ww will love their BR sons, but hate their daughters bcuz their sons give them access to the patriarchy (as if wm don't already do that?) and ww "have never had any power" so this is their way of receiving it.🙄 Anyways, I can kinda see how that shows through their offspring, like with Drake, Doja Cat, and Jeremy Meeks.
