A few years ago, I dated a string of emotionally unavailable guys and I read online somewhere that it was a symptom of being emotionally unavailable myself. When I read that, I knew it was true immediately and it changed my entire dating approach. When I started dating my husband I was at first put off by how available he was but by then I knew it was a trauma response so I ignore those self-sabotaging thoughts. So glad I did 😊💗 So I think what you're preaching is 100% true. You have to take time to examine your 'type' because sometimes you realise you've been playing yourself 😂

Same with critical humor, and same thing with my mom being super critical. I do need to watch my boundary with that, however, criticism doesn't get to me as much. Shame is not a huge deal for me.
