The businesses behind the biggest dating apps has gotten so greedy that they've ruined them. How dating apps contribute to the demographic crisis. These companies, instead of trying to find you the right date are instead focused on appeasing shareholders, trying to bring in record revenue. I am one who has had success with dating apps in the past. Especially with how convenient they were for those who had a tough time approaching anyone IRL. I also liked the idea that you can find anyone who is your type more specifically on an app (for my case it’s curvy/plus size women). Though it’s a damn shame that people with large egos and scammers ended up ruining it for everyone. And if not just them, then the company and investors who are trying to make more of a profit just because they’ve been working on a loss. Though I’m not sure if I may try again with a dating apps anymore. It’s too bad that they are not the same anymore as it was half a decade ago, but I’m glad to say that I’ve had my fun with them at the time. 👍

The problem is simple , they are financially incentivized to do everything except get you success because the moment you find success you don't have a need for them anymore. Instead of having a model where the only time they are financially rewarded is each time you have success, they are trying to monetize features which you hope will find you success ( like more visibility etc ). Ofc, to be able to keep milking you for money the features need to be good enough to fill you with enough hope to pay but not actually good enough to find you success, hence keeping you in the endless cycle of swiping and paying.

Just deleted my apps for good and I guess hoping and trying for something to work out in the real world. Depending on what survey’s you read, about 90% of the US population is heterosexual. That doesn’t mean having a different sexual orientation isn’t normal, but of course the video will predominately be about heterosexual relationships. Titles can only be so long.

And it would not include people who are interested in queer/gay dating while not identifying as queer/gay: which is a very large group. But more importantly, if you zoom in on people who are dating online, then the percentage is at least 20%. This is what some searching told me: Multiple survey’s found that LGBTIQA+ adults are almost twice as likely to have used online dating apps than ‘heterosexual’ adults. So, I get it that you’d like to keep your titles snappy. But what about changing/adding a few words here and there in the intro next time, and make your ‘non-hetero’ audience feel more included / less excluded. They might just come back and even hit like or subscribe. I’m pretty sure the queer/gay community is extra motivated in this regard. Even if it would be 1% It will cost you almost nothing to make that percentage of your audience more engaged. And as noted above: within this subject it’s likely > 20%.
