@@theeladyj I can understand why it’s like that in the US cuz you can have generations of light skinned people that don’t know where their light skin came from, then you can have the mixed people as in one parent is black the other is white, but because of slavery the lines are blurred. The UK be trying to copy this ish sometimes and I’m glad people are catching on. Mixed people should talk about mixed issues in their mixed communities periodt

I personally believe I need to love myself and KNOW myself, truly understand what my likes and dislikes are, connect with myself spiritually and emotionally and also explore hobbies and interests and truly enjoy my own company. Otherwise you end up relying on someone else too much to bring you happiness and you lose yourself. Nobody needs to be perfect and have it together, but a lot of people lack depth and substance and this can only be built alone.

She’s the only married one though. No disrespect to the other woman but I’d rather take advice from someone where I want to be rather than someone who is single for whatever reason. @@donuts108 If she hasn't got the type of man that the lady in question wants then does it matter? I've noticed it's very easy to get married, especially if you have no real requirements. For women with requirements and 'standards' it's a lot more difficult and they have to be ready to sacrifice not having marriage and a family or need to consider 'settling'. Literally lol. These days average women are more likely to be married than really beautiful women so I'm not sure why people talk as if men pick the cream of the crop women or that the woman is somehow special. Its not that. At all! and I'm realising it more and more everytime I'm in these spaces.

Love this show and the general honesty! Also feel sad about the disconnect between black men and women in the UK. The problem with a lot of black men generally is they do not go into relationships with a plan to commit to a woman no matter how beautiful or smart she maybe, so as things become more serious too quickly FOR THEM this is when things go left. On the flip side a lot of women categorize black men they are interested in without really getting to know them properly for their flaws and strengths. I feel this is where the disconnection often stems from leading to a lot of flaky or imaged based relationships.

He didn’t tick all the boxes. But i ignored the fact he wasnt, for example, 6 foot 1, and i got with him based on him being an amazing person. Not being 6”1 isnt a red flag 😂 its just my preference. I ignored those ‘on the surface’ things and married my husband, now were in our 4th year of marriage and i don’t care about his height. Just one example ive given! There are so many things i could list. All im saying is sometimes you could drop your ‘wants’ and chance him 😂❤️ i hope that clarifies everything x

Love love love this!!! Just one thing I didn’t necessarily agree with…. You shouldn’t fully love yourself before getting into a relationship with someone ?! I would disagree. I think that’s one of the reasons why they’re so many failed relationships. We are getting into relationships wanting our spouse/partner to fill us up when in reality that’s not their jobs. We should strive to be the best versions of ourselves (while single) and anything our partner provides going forward will just be an addition.

What a great series. Nice viewing a positive reaction to dating by men and women as opposed to seeing women being bashed and asked to get a dog for companionship.

I don't think you should ignore red flags. You just need to recognise whther it's a red flag or a dealbreaker. Those two aren't always the same.

This is great. But the disconnect is mainly for one reason: the personality we want, is often in the physical we don’t want (or vice versa) And that goes for men and women, but I think especially men Edit: 10:27 ....

Lack of collaboration is the issue. This whole extreme push of wanting all the gains but none of the accountability is not attractive for anyone in a relationship or wanting to start one regardless of gender. 6 figures guys max 10% if even of the population. Percentage of them that are black probably 1 to 2%.

I'm black american and first I wanted to say that these women are gorgeous! But I didnt know there was a disconnect between black men and women in the UK I thought that was just an issue in the black american community.
