Glad you’re out of the whole pickup artist scene. Just ‘embrace your individuality’, as Anthony puts it, be on your purpose, and always be open to meeting new friends with like minded interests. If you meet someone through your friends, or one of your friendships turns into something more, great. Or, if you meet someone out and about and it just happens, that’s okay too. Just as long as you’re being authentic, and not taking rejection personally. You got this

That's what happens if u try your whole life to "be cool": You end up with no real connections and an endless Acting gig that buries your true self. Thinking that others finally think you're cool when u accually are a victim of your own deception and insecureties/Trauma.
@dinosaurus499
@dinosaurus499 3 жыл бұрын
I'm not entirely sure they even think they're fooling anyone into thinking they're cool, but maybe they are. It's sad because in the back of their mind they're always going to be thinking, "What if they figure out the real me? Are they going to leave?" I suppose that's why they're so focused on getting lots of women, and not on getting the right women for them. 'Cause by definition their methods can never find the right women for them.

To answer your question seriously: In most dating circles, the word 'game' is just used to refer to attractive behaviors and social skills. This does not make it any less dumb as per my first comment. It essentially boils down to behaving like you are comfortable in social settings.

I read the book "the game" by neil strauss years ago which is what this is. its about mystery and his network of creepy guys. and I thought it would be like what anthony actually is, like good advice for women. but I was shocked that it was exactly what anthony describes. its like guys who never got women in their lives and just did the weirdest sociopathic stuff and it was all so dumb and skeezy. its not really a "how to book", its a narrative from a journalist that embedded with them. and the point of the book is how horrible it all was and people are either illiterate or didn't read it who recommend it.

You shouldn't paint all pickup artists in such a bad light. Some pickup artists are genuine guys that are just trying to help other guys improve their dating life like you are. Even if it's more so for hooking up, with the right instructor you can go a long way with improving your social skills and sex life with it. These guys are obviously a cringe fest, real pickup is not about techniques and one liners. It's more so about having good vibe and energy and knowing how to lead.

I've been texting and talking with this guy who told me that I have to chase him. He requested sexy lingerie photo and said that I have to seduce him because there will be other women that will try to seduce him and he is really great man and that I don't want to lose him. He added that if I don't keep seducing him when dating him, eventually another woman will, implying that he will just leave me for the greater seductress. Ugh.. I said I don't want to compete with other women constantly and I'm not really good at seduction anyway. Is he a pick up artist, emotionally unavailable or just plain narcissistic?

I do not really understand what your criticism of Jordan Peterson actually consists of. In his books, he advocates ideas such as taking care of yourself, taking responsibility for yourself and your life, having a sense of purpose, and making friends with people who actually care about you. Some of these ideas could be helpfull to young men. Besides, you advocate similair ideas in your audiobook about Wolf and Garden. I do not know if you want to engage in this topic any further, but i think it would be very interesting if you would make a video about your critisism of Peterson.
@AnthonyRecenello

That’s not what made Jordan go viral. His book is a money grab reaction to virality: Make a basic self help book. This book has the same advice most self improvement books do. He went viral for having shitty perspectives about women and other marginalized groups. And they are such bad takes that he gets destroyed in simple debates about them.

Aside from cringe-worthy impressions, you do make some good points about pickup artists doing outrageous stuff for validation, even "style" aka Neil Strauss mentions it in his book "the game" and the participants are incredibly anxious and instead of reflecting on what actually makes them anxious and take steps to overcome it they seem to go around doing crazy stuff, which could, in the end, set them worse than when they started. Nice video. I think your comments are accurate to the persona branding we see in the video. But I think you can find other PUA's that would say the best "technique" to become confident is to feel confident and that would be a better way than some specific outfit or pose. Living a "lifestyle" you enjoy and feeling good living, is something other dating coaches like them would agree with you on. You make it sound like you're the only one that figured out being naturally attractive is easier than forcing it. You raise the interesting question that "nerds" might be dating other nerds if they just acted like themselves, how do you think that would play out? Would they think they were dating actually hot people, would they be too toxic and ruin even those relationships, and how would they go from some online forum with social anxiety to getting actual dates? I wonder how you see this scenario play out in reality.

@@sergiopulido1584 There is a lot of solid self-development and social-dynamic knowledge that comes out of certain PUAs. But at the same time there are some issues with the underlying premises that pickup-artistry function on. A lot of PUA doesn't put enough emphasis on uncovering one's more true and confident self, but on faking and acting. Even if some PUAs have matured in that regard (and some have), the idea of chatting up as many girls as possible in order to learn how to be more confident also causes a lot of harm to many young men. It can in some cases be helpful to put oneself out there and to get some experience in talking with women, but that's only a very small aspect of what it CAN (not must) take to become more confident and competent at finding women one can connect with. It in a sense makes the wohle thing seem a lot harder than it has to be and teaches some notions about what it means and takes to be attractive, that can be hard to get out of one's psyche again later in life. And these notions do cause some amount of damage. In the end I think PUA can be helpful for certain people, and it has led many into self-help/self-development, because those aspects are a big part of PUA as well. It also helps to get some idea of psychology and how attraction works with women to some degree, which can be very useful for a young man to understand better. So I wouldn't say it's all bad. But it comes with its upsides and downsides. Young people may more easily be drawn to PUAs because of their infields etc. than to "dating coaches", but perhaps people like Anthony will help to bring more young people toward more mature approaches to dating and attraction-psychology.
@EvilUmagon
@EvilUmagon 3 жыл бұрын
@@AnthonyRecenello Some PUAs that focus a lot on "natural game" are pretty decent. Often very focused on self-development and bringing out the best in a person rather than to fake and act. Which isn't to say some less useful PUA culture-leftovers don't sometimes make it into their teachings as well (like having to approach countless girls in order to find women to connect with). But really, it can be hard to find some of the more useful and beneficial aspects of their teachings anywhere else. I'm glad people like you are giving an alternative for decent dating-advice though.
@sergiopulido1584
@sergiopulido1584 3 жыл бұрын
@@EvilUmagon I agree completely with you. Especially because young men are easily influenced to believe toxic beliefs about women. Look at the Fresh and Fit podcast that is becoming very popular. They have demonized a specific subset of promiscuous women and claim that is how all women think. What's crazy is how harmful those ideologies are. It's definitely inspired by PUAs of old and new "game". However, when Todd Valentine gives advice, it's always pragmatic and far away from red pill toxic beliefs. While I understand that the mass approach is not well liked, there's a merit to being social in day and night settings and being aware of how to capitalize on charismatic behaviors. Most men who are confident but inexperienced in dating fail to set a man to woman premise. For me that was a big issue, how to sexualize the chemistry like other men would do. That doesn't mean I wasn't being congruent with who I am, it just gave me a POV. Most times girls don't want to make the first move (social conditions) and I don't have the time to become everyone's friend. Doesn't make the interaction less authentic.

I know you can’t trust my word that what you’ve followed is complete laughable horseshit because of the gains you’ve made. But you don’t realize how much your progress has been held back by it. Again, you’re obviously new to my videos as I see you aren’t subscribed and I would know how long you would be subbed. This is your first time commenting on my vids. Give it time John. But if you’d rather just stick to the other thing be my guest I guess 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@AnthonyRecenello Lol I'll check out more of your content. I disagree that the coaches I watch are "horseshit" because I have a pretty strong filter. I do see guys like The Attractive Man and cringe when I see them.. truth be told I only trust about 3 dating coaches. 1 being Girls Chase another being Coach Kyle. I used to watch a lot of Based Zeus when I was younger too. I think you should check them out.. something tells me you won't completely hate them. Another one is AG Hayden who even has a whole video on how to do pickup without being a misog***stic asshole🤷‍♂️ so yea. Pretty much every girlfriend or friend with benefits I've ever gotten was because of what these guys taught me anyways thanks for the replies. would be cool if you let me know you read this last comment tho haha just so ik I'm not typing into the void. but yeah have a good one man

@@xjohntheone First click on Coach Kyle and he’s teaching to be more masculine. Already horseshit. That’s a waste of time as women aren’t attracted to masculinity. He is literally wasting your time going down idiotic roads because he watched some RSD videos 3 yrs ago. Masculinity is for men. Not for women.

can you give an example of the toxic stuff that jordan peterson spreads? I've read his book seen multiple of his lectures and i don't think that you have a valid reason for your claim

99% sure this dude is a male feminist I'd bet my money his problems with JP are from the viral videos he has debating feminism, things like the wage gap etc

Jordan Peterson literally used the example of lobster sexual hierarchy to relate to human society, he could've used at least a mammalian example but chose a bottom feeding crustacean. Seems FISHY, no? Also, he wrote a self help book then got a raging benzo addiction. No judgment, but he certainly shouldn't be telling people to "clean their room" when he can't handle. Wolves, my guy, they're out there.

This is interesting you don't like Peterson that much Peterson's an INFJ I thought as an ENFP you would be more attracted to him like Russel brand is (who's also an ENFP btw)

Not sure JP is actually an INFJ. But if he is, a type doesn’t mean you can’t also be an unlikeable asshole.

Have you ever thought about reaching out to Jordan Peterson for a productive discussion about your different point of views? I think it would be awesome 😎 and very constructive

bruh most of the things in this video are relating to the old pua community😂 what you suggested at 16:37 is literally what most current generation Puas teach

A simple example of saying “Hi nice to meet you” isn’t the problem. It’s the fact that their social advice takes that, and then laces with horrible shit is what makes your life harder.
