🤨 WHAT THE HECK IS A DATING COACH? 🧐
Okay I get about 30 comments a day on this question. I'm a social skills and relationship coach. I've been doing it for 15+ years (since 2005).
I help men and women get into the relationships they've always wanted by improving their Confidence, Charm, Conversation, Body Language, and most of all… Individuality.
You can find me at bars, clubs, parties, parks, and live events coaching my clients to meet and connect with people. The New York Times wrote an article about me-you can read it here: www.nytimes.com/2014/05/18/ny...
You may have seen me on TV or magazines on CNN, FOX, PIX, VICE, USA, and more, recognized for my work in dating, charm, and social development. ( • CNN asked me to COACH ... )
There are two ways clients can work with me: My mentorship program where I coach men and women 1-on-1, or my Soulmate Method program, a three-month online video class that gives you everything you need to get into your dream relationship within a year. Get a glimpse of that program for free here: www.SoulmateMethod.com
I'm humbled to have successfully transformed the lives of thousands of people over the years and am constantly finding new ways to make you better with people. If you're interested in long-term private coaching, set-up a time to chat with us at www.recenello.com.

Wow! This is the best advice on confrontation I have received since the time I learnt about “the shit sandwich” 😂 At work, we usually sandwich a confrontational message in between 2 nice things about the other person. But I love how simply you put it here. All you need is love and be direct. That is the most respectful/least patronizing way. And 2 adults can get real the fastest. The other tip I wanna add- usually when someone is being a dick to us, it turns into a match of who can be a bigger fuckhead. I have been down that road for years, and let me tell you it leads nowhere. It will lead you on an endless spiral of attracting more and more fuckheads in your life to bang your head against. If you give them the irritated reaction they were seeking, they already won. Instead double down on your joy and optimism, and laughing about the whole situation, simply tell “what’s wrong with you pal. why you gotta do that?” Coming from a place of love, you will get the message across. From a place of rage, you would just start an ego validation war. What another person does is never in your control, but your internal state of joy is 100% in your control. Unperturbed Joy is just a choice you make.

@@katrin6388 krav maga focuses on dealing the most damage possible, with no restraint. 0 to 100. with wrestling and jiu jitsu you can easily control the opposition safely for yourself and the other person. Also krav maga gyms are pretty hostile, whereas jiu jitsu gyms almost always have an excellent environment. Everyone is really nice and welcoming, then you practice pretend killing each other for an hour and a half

The whole martial arts confidence thing is more of an absence of fear when disagreeing with people, if you are afraid that voicing your opinion could potentially result in conflict or violence then you're more likely to stay meek and quiet, martial arts knowledge and training is kind of like people who carry weapons, even if they never use them it's nice to know they are there as a last resort/back-up plan in case things go south, with knowing that they are covered if things were to go poorly it's easier to speak your mind

“Not every confrontation has to lead to a fight.” This feels different for someone who has experienced domestic abuse at a young age because it always feels like that. The fact that the people who were supposed to show you unconditional love are able to hurt you teaches you that if they can hurt me, then anyone can. Maybe you can touch on this topic in a video?

Elizah Mendoza I totally agree. I’ve noticed that he doesn’t account for these types of situations and/or mental illnesses but at the same time he is just a dating coach who is more psychologically switched on than the others, but he’s not a psychologist. I’d like to see his opinion on this topic and other surrounding topics!

I feel like he’s never been in an environment where he’s had to fight or defend himself maybe🤷🏽‍♀️. Like he’s been in a very tightly nit bubble all of his life because in rougher neighborhoods you never know what’s going to happen and just not matching their aggression could not be enough to deflate the situation. Running away or ignoring them isn’t an easy fix all the time. Now, I love all of your content and my assumptions could be ABSOLUTELY wrong, but I just think people should take this advice with a grain of salt🤏🏽❤️❤️

Yes! I agree, there are some circumstances where someone will intentionally berate or attack you simply to appear powerful to their friends. I've seen that a lot growing up and my mother's advice was always, if someone is picking a fight with you don't step down because they will continue to pick on you. However, I don't think this is common is most places. So his advice doesn't work for all environments.

I agree with the replies here. “Pick your battles” is the wisest advice I have gotten. Which comes back to what is your purpose in life- “get even with some guy who upset you with his words” or “to lead a happy fulfilling life”? Some people I have seen-once they develop some muscular strength, they are just looking to ‘pick fights/settle scores’ which is just to validate their ego. If you live in a developed conflict free nation, in a decent neighborhood, almost never will there be a real threat to your life. So most of us watching this video, ALWAYS have the option to avoid a conflict and stay on course with your own life goals. But of course if there is an obvious threat of bodily harm- do whatever you think will give you the best chances of survival - fight or flight 😂

As part of learning martial arts, it is like my brain instantly knew to stay calm and keep my distance. I think that's what Charisma on Command was getting at. Was the fact that since the guy took martial arts, he was trying to calm down the woman by using the avoiding conflict. He started failing when the conflict got too much.
@doughjoe1023
@doughjoe1023 4 жыл бұрын
I’m not Charlie, but I think your disagreement of his point about Martial Arts is off. It’s not about your willingness to get into conflict, or even having some implied notion that you can whoop ass if you need to. That’s not what he’s saying. It doesn’t help that Rogan uses a clinch in that one clip, but what Charlie’s getting at, I think, is that the inner confidence and discipline that you develop through martial arts inherently makes you feel more confident with yourself. Think about it. When you’re really good at something, you’re more confident in it. Martial Arts, in a lot of ways, goes beyond hobby and into lifestyle for a lot of practitioners, Joe Rogan is 100% part of that group. It becomes purpose, to use your phrase. That inner confidence-defined by your relationship with yourself, is where the fearlessness comes from.
@GlobusTheGreat
@GlobusTheGreat 4 жыл бұрын
I see what you're saying and I think it is a perfectly valid way to think about inner confidence, but I do not believe that is what Charlie was getting at, based on the clips we see. It really does sound like he is saying that it is easier to feel unafraid of someone confronting you in a rage if you do not fear that it would eventually turn into a physical altercation, and that it makes you more likely to stand up to the angry individual, rather than cower in fear despite knowing that what they are saying or how they are acting is wrong. I prefer the concepts that you mention, but I actually think Charisma on Command was going for a different angle, because I don't think they mention here anything about discipline or lifestyle about Joe with his MMA abilities in this video.

GlobusTheGreat Fair enough. I’m probably reading between the lines/conflating my own experiences here. But I 100% back up my points about Martial Arts being a catalyst for inner confidence/self-growth. Jordan peterson said something along the lines, that the most competent person is someone secure enough to possess a dangerous weapon and has the prowess to weild it, but is never tempted to use it. Joe Rogan is a good example of competent person considering his combative skill and the way he resolved the confrontation.

I've been doing tae kwon do since I was a baby, my dad was a student for a long time & taught us when we were small. I never had to fight until middle school, it was like I was fighting every week at my school lol. When I got into high school though everyone was so chill & just wanted to get through classes to go home that no one really caused drama. A few tried to but when I squared up to fight they changed their minds xD. I haven't had to fight anyone in the streets for a long time just at my gym & that's just for fun. It's extremely different for my brother though, he's a big guy. I think because of that people try to make themselves look good by taking down a big guy so he's always getting into small fights wherever he goes. He's always a chill guy but he doesn't mind people starting fights too because he's always down to fight.

Love, this channel love that it's not about that fake ass tough guy stuff. Love, that it's about being genuine, and building relationships that smooth the pathways of life. That being said, it may be wise to consider that in certain areas or regions of the country peoples willingness to fight are a little different. I'm sure the LA types are not there to fight at all. But, unfortunately in other places. Like my beautiful home state of Louisiana people absolutely love to fight, and it's really not that big a deal them, and they will gladly assault you. It's important not to project our personal experience onto everyone in different situations. Edit- For instance, I have literally been in this position and tried the whole calm, no ego walk away shit. Got grabbed by the sleeve turned back around into about 8 or 9 right hands. I shot a single leg, and handled it after that, but in no way was he going to calm down. He had decided that night, he was going to fight me, it's a real thing. Happens all the time. I've been at parties where friends of mine were suddenly hit in the back of the head for genuinely no reason by strangers in fact I've seen this happen multiple times. Not every place is Los Angeles .

The shit thing about Rogan calling that guy out on stage was that Joe's agency dropped him afterwards. They were with the same agency and the guy on stage was more valuable to them at the time so they told Joe to either apologise or he's not working under them any more. He said there's no way he's apologising so agreed to part ways.

If someone is trying to fight you, go away. That is the #1 advice the best martial artists give. RUN. If you are cornered and they are attacking you, then use mace. If no mace, then fight. If you are trained in martial arts, it can help. But that will likely never happen to you. It’s super rare. Most of the time, you can calm people down by having complete presence.

I'm with Charlie, sorry Anthony. I think you're wrong about the Martial Arts . If you do Martial Arts, you become more confident in yourself and life and if you KNOW you've mastered something. You're at ease and comfortable with yourself so you can come with love at the person ☺

But is it tied to martial arts itself? what if you’ve mastered a topic in Mathematics? You still know you’ve mastered something, so why should that person even consider martial arts if he’s not into it? Should the whole world consider martial arts?

@@blueis910 The purpose of someone learning a fighting style is because they want to know how to defend themselves. If they mastered it, they won't feel like someone's gonna kick their arse because they know they'd be able to physically beat them up hence why they feel comfortable because they're confident with their own skill of that, and comfortable in their own skin. They can rely on talking out of situations and know they can lay the smackdown on someone who goes for them ☺
