nah fr listen to him, me and my ex was together for a good amount of time and I knew he was leaving for the military and we had already established the whole I love you and marriage talk before he went in. We even went on a whole weeks vacation the week right before he left and I spent a lot of money for us to enjoy our time together before he left . Everything was good during his bootcamp for the air force and I even flew out to see him graduate from bootcamp then when he first got to tech school everything was still really good, I say about a month and a half after he was in tech school he started to act different and I'm like wtf so to cut it short we broke up because he claimed he couldn't handle a relationship and the military at the same time. Mind you I told him that the military changed you and different. But I was all in because I knew I was able to handle long distance and not talking so much because both of my parents was in the army. He tried to deny he ain't change but then a month later he finally did ament to it so y'all if your mans/girl or you going to the military frfr don't take that shit seriously cause u will be soooo heart broken like me.

Joined the navy went thru bootcamp and a school all good, went on deployment and halfway thru broke up because she couldn’t handle the distance. I was stationed in Cali while she was in VA. My crush admitted to me before basic that he likes me, and we talked and thank God we both were on the same page of: we genuinely like each other and want to make this work, but we’re okay with waiting until the future to initiate a relationship. We still send letters and will continue to be friends and stay in contact, but we both made it clear we shouldn’t date until he’s adjusted to that lifestyle and until my mental health is better (I have ptsd which holds me back a lot in relationships so I’m working on it) so we talked for hours and finally came to a conclusion for us. Dombomb I’m an ET in A school up in Great Lakes rn , it’s a chill rate, a lot of math, definitely helps if you have good attention to detail, from what I hear the Advancement rate is great all AECF is automatic E-4 after school and time in rate , however the higher you rank up as an ET the less valuable you become in the civilian world doing a similar job. Cuz from E6 and Up your basically a supervisor rather than a Technician.
