Just today, I was in a Whole Foods store. Ordered a sandwich at the food bar. Next to that was a black guy making a pizza the old fashioned way... stretching the dough while rotating it on the back of his hands. I said to him "you must have some Italian in you the way you handled that pizza." Without blinking an eye, he said "yeah, I tell people I'm Blackscilian!" (Black Sicilian) we both laughed and wished each other a good day. You gotta have some fun out there in this day and time!

Sounds like the first interaction between Tim Robbins' character and Morgan Freeman's character in Shawshank Redemption. Morgan to Tim: "Red. The name's Red." Tim to Morgan: "Red? Why do they call you that?" Morgan replies, "Maybe it's because I'm Irish."

If you know anything about comedy shows at all, they are not done to cater to the weak of heart. If you have any sensitive issues at all you should not go. That is the whole idea behind comedy. A lot of it is ad lib so you never know what you are going to get. If you get offended, then you have no reason to be there at all. The rougher they go about it the more they get paid and you need to toughen up

Why is everyone so sensitive lately? Opening Night butterflies! Societies* around the world are coming to the realization that 'business as usual' is causing far more harm than good. We, as a people, are poised for a huge 'next-step' in how we relate to each other as people, and everyone is anxious. It's Prom Night; our hopes and dreams are on the line! Besties will act like Beasties until the Dance floor opens and they drop the beat! Once we figure out the new dance moves, we will all be Besties again! *A corporation, church, family, baseball team, government, police force: all are Societies in their own right; social groups with shared goals, purpose and sense of identity. Humans have long been motivated by 'fear of the other'; this fear has been leveraged into unjust Laws, unfair power/resource distribution, Punitive Religions and World Wars. The 'next dance' we learn is to embrace 'the other' as ourselves; strangers become an opportunity to make a friend, and not just a fast buck! We won't have to take anything by force or negotiate to gain advantage; we will see human needs and fill them as a natural duty to our own species. Hey, I'm just trying to make sense of all this crazy-time; maybe having a crazy point of view helps...

People forget, there’s always some truth to the stereotypes of different cultures and races. That’s why people ‘get’ the joke and laugh about it. Nothing wrong with having a little fun exploiting these stereotypes in a comedy show. They’re just jokes. Unfortunately Dave is right, half the population do have ‘brittle ears’.

Hi, my name is Brian I know this is off the Chapelle topic, though I will watch this video next. I was watching your Thomas Sowell video and then more videos of yours and saw the Jordan Petersen video on what is a real woman. Then I watched and listened to other ones. So as a rule I don't comment on videos but watching your videos I found myself asking the same questions you were asking each other. So I decided I wanted to comment. So I subscribed, not only to get your other content but so I could comment In the present. So after all that I would like to ask you, if I could get your thoughts on a Jordan Petersen interview done in Scandinavia on a show named Skavlan. Please and Thankyou. I very much have appreciated your content so far!

I think people have become more sensitive because putting down other people has in fact gotten worse in comedy. Comedians now take the easy route, their comedy mostly about putting down people (the blacks making fun of the whites, the westerners making fun of asians etc etc), after a while it gets tedious. And most comedians now create comedy based on social agendas (though they won't admit to it). The blame is not all on the audience. Stand up in the 60s,70s, 80s wasn't about that it was comedy for comedys sake. Listen to people like Bob newhart, even Richard Pryor and Eddie murphy . Of course there were some but not all.
