I usually dont watch vids where they request to watch the whole vid (feels like I'll be in for a lot of filler), but this was actually amazing start to finish. Great production and absolutely loved the info and insight. Its really messed up how the legal system seems so easy for bigger folk to manipulate while staying legal and just being super sneaky. Glad to hear more people acknowledge the crooked system and especially like this new wave of thinkers. I absolutely agree that 'marketing' has become controlling dumb people essentially and it really should be about respecting the 'customer' and having them make real decisions, not forced ones for the $. Definitely gets complicated I can tell especially when dealing with the bigger dogs who already call the shots. Anyway, great vid!

Not all, but Dave Chappelle is in a class of his own. the specials are more or a social commentary. a heart to heart. and it work fors for him. stand up is jokes and anecdotes. this is a reall heart to heart, serious issue in a frank non agressive way thaat doesnt belittle or thread on the subject for laughs. its not just business as usual, or as it was. its truelly a treat

Awesome video! Applause good sir. Most people (myself included) could not understand why chapelle left the show. You broke it down and backed it up with evidence that clearly illuminates why. Dave is a pretty humble guy and he never wanted to explain that he felt the compensation was the problem. My uncle went thru all the pain and time it requires to become a lawyer. Once he graduated and got a job with a great law firm and learned it wasnt about justice; but money, and power he became a plumber. Sad to say there arent enough people like you and my uncle that stand on principle anymore. Dont be a mouse!

Wow! great job dialing up your videos! excellent message and one that I have been thinking about even before you put words to my thoughts. I've been working in sales for years and often the company's tactic is just what you said, the choice between bad and worse. Then on the employee/employer side is the drive to worship the "successful" and think that they make more than I do, so they must be smarter/wiser/better than me. Instead of promoting a more balanced, "I am better than no one, but no one is better than me" attitude. LOL anyway, love it... keep going!

Young plaintiff Banking and Finance Lawyer here. Great lessons mate. Whenever you find yourself considering a contract, take your time, consider your options, speak with trusted advisers (ones who don't open conversations with talk about dollars and cents). Always remember, you need independent advice on contracts from a lawyer (and not all lawyers are created equal - find the ones that know what you need them to know, ask questions and keep your bullshit detector on at all times). If YOUR lawyer doesn't explain what the contract will mean for you then they WILL BE HELD LIABLE for any losses you incur as a result. Require them to take notes on their advice and put it in writing for you. Then you bet your ass they're going to explain it all, because you hold the evidence of what they told you. Never ever move due to arbitrary timeframes, they're only there to pressure you. I see warranted scepticism from clients towards me on a daily basis because of my position. My attitude to business is if you get a raw deal out of me, you won't ever work with me again, and that's not good for me. Doing good honest work for people is always more beneficial in the long run. It allows you to sleep at night.

It's pretty much how every industry works, especially with artists involved. He mentioned the situation with Jack Kirby and Stan Lee/Marvel. But that is not only one of many situations just with that particular company, but also extremely tame compared to how many, MANY more turn out. There's a documentary called Batman & Bill that dives completely into the full creation of the character, and how the franchise's most iconic contributor got treated by both his business "partner" Bob Kane, and DC comics. As a brief summary.... it's depressing as fuck, with a gilmore of retribution and hope for change moving forward.

The quality is just 🔥🔥 and yeah ethics are getting worse day by day. The even worst part is that if EU makes something amazing for their citizens it means people in India get their lives messed up. An MNC who has multiple offices in multiple countries treat their employees very differently and this gets bad day by day. To be honest I'm inspired by the FIRE movement and that's the reason I'm being super frugal and saving everything possible. I may not be able to retire so early but i want to have the confidence to say f*** off when the situation actually arrives.

Excellent video. There's a lot of wisdom to unpack, both in this video and Dave's. I'd love to post my own personal experience with a contract or two, but I won't. I will add this piece of advice that has served me well - this advice was given to me by one of my brothers, a lawyer. Before you start work on a project with a new client, get some money upfront (like 50%). Because cash is more valuable than a contract.

All this video points out is that you can't trust people when it comes to money. The person with the most money will always win and make the person with less lose in every situation. Money can turn wives and husbands against each other. Ruin life long relationships that never recover. This is why I never loan money to friends I only gift it. My return is knowing that I helped out my friend and their life is a little easier. On occasion someone was able to pay me back and when they offered all I asked was that they be there for me when I need it. Unfortunately business will never be this way. Human greed is social disorder that everyone thinks is good for some reason. Hence as long a people are involved fair deals will only be as solid as the people giving them.

In a nutshell, they are companies whose business ethos places emphasis on using business as a driver for good, not just to create shareholder value. There's thousands of them out there, find them and support them. Lastly, the video is epic, really really well done so congrats on that.

You hit the nail on the head with the Jack Kirby instance; he wanted rights and assets that he felt he was owed. Then he went to DC comics and created the fourth world and they gave him compensation all rights to their toys of the characters he created. His stories ended up kit selling well and we went back to marvel. Tragic.

11:50 That statement is so true. Just look at the comments sections on IG posts, YT videos, you'll see people commenting some bs like " great content, btw I'm an upcoming designer, artist, programmer" and have no interest in the post they commented on, just want to generate traffic through your work. There's even some who make it look as if they have no intention of wanting attention, but comment in a subtle way just enough to make it as if they genuinely interested in your content but leave just a hint to attract others to their platforms... " i really enjoyed your production, editing, content... helped me alot in my work" those commenters are the worst! They are really the wolfss in sheeps skin!
