When it comes to truck music, Dave Dudley rocks. He knows how to sing it at the right pitch. Perfect tribute to all the truckers who keep America moving.Terrible you don't hear music like this on radio thanks to the modern wannabes who pretend to be country which took over and threw out the old classics that made country music what it is.
@davedudleyfan80675 жыл бұрын
I do agree that it is saddening this type of music is not made anymore. But I think it makes it that much more special, it has its own flair for the era it represents, just as modern country does today, and certainly will in 40 years just as Dave Dudley does today. :)

Dave could really sing. I don’t know if he ever drove a truck but he could sure sing like he did. I have heard his songs thousands of times still enjoy them. Some tell the story of my life or at least some chapters of my life.

This song was originally written and recorded in 1954 by Terry Fell and the Fellers. A band member of Fellers was a guy by the name of Alvis Edgar Owens. He would record this song 10 years later under his nick "Buck." From my late wife's notes. My Shannon has been in Heaven going on two years now. I can not even describe the hurt, pain, and broken heart. 43 years young, forever. God Bless my Shannon. Tears and memories are all I have left. God save us all. Hug those you love. Tell them you do right now. You may never get another chance. Nothing is as terrible or as final as your loved one's name chisled in stone.

Actually not. Terry Fell and the Fellers sang this in 1954. The same year Terry wrote it. A band member of the Fellers was a guy named Alvis Edgar Owens, and he would record it 11 years later under his stage name, Buck. From my late wife, Shannon Burns' notes. Gone to be with her savior in Heaven 22 months ago. I miss her and cry for her like it was 22 minutes ago. I love you Shannon. Your Denny.

Well let's see...the "voice" is great really! But the band. did not do what Buck Owens band did. In other words. IF Dave Dudley had Bucks Steel Guitar player; and Bucks fiddle and guitar player; this music would be the best in the world; on this incredible song. Oh indeed.
