Bob Iger bought the franchises because it looks good on his portfolio. That's it. Disney was underperforming heavily under him so he got it indebted to acquire Fox, Marvel and Star Wars so it'd LOOK, purely from a numerical spreadsheet perspective, like Disney was growing. Problem is once you acquire them you have to actually GROW THEM. And now Bob has nothing left to phagocytize he's left wasting money on a failing business model. Rule by spreadsheet is a path to failure. That's why we need management to actually have expertise on what they're managing. Bob doesn't even have the skillset to keep star wars afloat and his legion of yesmen have kept him uneducated.

But the franchise as a whole is making Disney money, that includes Star Wars products other than the movies. They haven't lost Star Wars revenue, they've gained. I agree about all their stuff being trash. I only disagree on one point really. I hear other content creators say the same thing when talking about Disney. They are never in panic mode after a failure. Why would anyone think that? They already know it’s going to fail. They know how the majority will respond and the backlash they will get. They do it anyways because it’s the content and agenda they want to produce. They will get some financial gains from the EDI groups like BlackRock to help cover some of their loses. I believe they think eventually they will start to win people over again through some sort of magic. However, they aren’t panicking or scrambling for cover. They know what’s coming before they release the next new piece of garbage.

At this point, it's an uphill battle. A platinum franchise that has shed fans, not added any new ones. The whole thing needs a reset and even that is probably not enough to restore viewer goodwill and get Star Wars on track.

Star Wars started in 1977, and the special editions in 1997, and the Prequels in 1999 created new legions of fans. Now, since Disney screwed the saga, rebooting it won’t make any benefit to the brand. There is no interest in new projects from the part of younger audiences that don’t see Star Wars as something special (in fact, nothing is special to them) so a reboot would mean millions in losses. And fan service isn’t working anymore. It’s over.

When it came out, I thought The Force Awakens was a mediocrity, but it made $2 billion plus at the box office. I can understand how Filoni and everyone else at Disney would have thought that everything was fine and that they knew what they were doing. When The Force Awakens split the fanbase, that should have been a major red flag. A smart person would have started to question the course Disney had taken with Star Wars. When Solo bombed and The Rise of Palpatine might or might not have even broke even, it should have set off a massive fire alarm at Disney. And remember, this was before all the terrible, money losing TV shows for Disney+. Kathleen Kennedy, her closest allies and minions should have fired at that point. I'm not saying that out of malice. KK and company took a movie franchise valued at about $4 billion and were clearly running it into the ground. At that point It should have been obvious to everyone that Star Wars was in deep sh*t. If I had been interviewing Filoni, I would have asked him what took him so long to become concerned.

Everything was approved personaly by him since his promotion between Mando S2 and Book of Boba, which was the time when he outranked Favreau and hijacked his show and turned it into his personal fanfic about Bo-Tox-Karen, the pseudocharacter so toxic and evil only Palpatine can match the depths of her moral depravity. The rewrites are obvious by the nonsensical, broken plot and also retrospectively confirmed by the old interview with Pascal who was supposed to have the most of face time scenes in S3 - the original version which was never made.

I think we have to be careful to immediately ignore Dave's accomplishments in light of the Acolyte. I'm curious to know what involvement Dave had beyond that he just signed off on it. It's easy for us to say that he shouldn't have, but would it have made a difference? Would it have caused him unnecessary grief considering his superiors are following an agenda and don't really care whether something is good or bad? Think about the test groups, the early watchers, the prior feedback on projects. Yet Disney changed nothing, and went ahead and made another Star Wars show without applying input from fans. Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau are the only people who (imo) have actually put quality Star Wars content out lately, and it's clear that Jon in particular told Disney to stop interfering with his creative vision, and we got an awesome Mandalorian season 2 because of that. (But again, Jon wasn't an employee of Disney, Dave is) Also, Anakin probably didn't think he ever became evil. Only Darth Vader had remorse for his actions once his son Luke came on the scene. He IS running the things. He has been running the things since his promotion after Mando S2. It is not a coincidence the quality dropped at that time, even if some of the problems in Book of Boba were caused by the c0vid restrictions. Mando S3 turned into Bo-Tox-Karen: The Terr0rist Did Nuthing Wrong S1 is on him. The rewrites are obvious and also confirmed by an old interview with Pedro Pascal who was talking about a different S3 than we got. He was supposed to have the most of face time scenes in S3, but because he didn´t agree with the firing of Gina and rewrites to shoehorn Bo-Tox into the spotlight he was punished with zero face time. That´s why he found himself new roles in different projects. Noone can believe the official excuses like "it was too physically demanding and he´s getting old" when he took a role in Gladiator 2 recently and he has fight scenes in armor in the movie. So it was all just a lie to get rid of him, shoehorn Bo-Tox, the f-ing VILLAIN who keeps failing upwards for her atrocities, into the hero´s rightful place and find some fabricated excuses for it. It didn´t work. Also, nobody in their right mind could believe Favreau wanted to replace Din, the main character he created for the show, with Bo-Tox in his own story. It was Favreau who pitched the concept of the show to Lucasfilm, Felony wasn´t involved until KK assigned him to help Favreau as the "lore expert" (LOLOLOL!) S3 contradicts everything established in seasons 1&2 and TBOBF so much it is painfully obvious it was supposed to be very different. The rewrites are on Felony because only he can be so out of touch with reality to hammer his pet villainous Mary Sue into the story and not be aware it will make the fans angry. He is so full of himself he thinks everyone has to love his trash-tier fanfic OC as much as he loves her. It is a typical narcissistic thinking process, literally on the level of a toddler who thinks his unrecognizable drawing is a pasterpiece. Also look up the interview where he is praising Rey and whaman powaah bull**** (both on KZbin and in the official guide to the sequels), and the interview with Adam Driver (on YT) where he is talking about the awful rewrites of the sequels initiated by Felony. Every terrible decision when it comes to SW is always connected to Felony.

They didn't even work for animation. TCW is wildly overrated IMO and steals all of its best ideas, storylines and characters from the EU Clone Wars material, and does them more poorly than the original, superior material. Also, TCW is a terrible at bridging the gap between the Prequels and introduces many new contradictions, (like Anakin being a completely different character from the Prequels and having Dave Filoni's fan-fiction OC as his apprentice).
