Funny thing, I'm old and although I've been on iRacing for many years, I'm fairly new to Formula cars. That being said, I thought I'd try Spa (never turned a lap in the F4 there before tonight) in the fixed F4 after about 15 minutes of practice. lol I wasn't feeling confident so I skipped qualifying and start dead last and just focused on avoiding the carnage and staying on the track and took it to the finish in P4 with 0x. Some people call those positions freebies but I feel I earned them by strategic avoidance! 🤣🤣🤣

I went into the open race by accident yesterday and practiced in the rain for 10 mins. Decided that wasn’t going to be fun so I waited for the fixed. Ended up getting meatballed right after turn 1 but finished 12th. Can’t wait to race this again today.

I’ve noticed there seems to be an overtake at all cost approach in sim racing recently. First lap heroics, going for the smallest gaps and let me past or we both dnf style moves.

My PC have a 4090, ryzen 5800X3D, 32G and I have massive fps drop even withe 50% gpu usage and less on cpu!

@@virgilioneves84 one of my teammates was having a lot of issues and he had to delete the .ini file because it was corrupted and helped a little. James Baldwin was complaining about frame drops the other day too. I don’t know what they did this season but it needs to be fixed.

I was having issues. I reinstalled windows and the problems have gone away. Running 5800x3D with a 4080 Super. 120fps (consistent) with about 60% GPU utilization. Rain though - 99% GPU utilization at 100-110fps but no stutters.

@@virgilioneves84delete your INI file and re-run graphics configuration. I have a 4090 and 13900k. I had issues as well. Completing the steps above helped.

When I had the feeling that performance was less despite a high framerate, it turned out that my monitors were set to a refresh rate of 60Hz in Windows instead of the 165Hz they are capable of. Might that be the issue?

This race proves that the racing standards have dropped signifiicantly. I had 5 races in a row of DNFs after the first corner or first lap due to people sending it too hard or not paying any attention

@@davecamyt even A class 2.0? That's quite tight! I was going to normalise all the classes and steps into a single scale, that way none of the "you lost 1.0 because you got promoted" or "you borrow 0.5 because you went over a threshold" stuff gets in the way.

After losing about 500 points in the last couple weeks of f3 i am convinced the f3/fr teir of open wheelers has the largest concetration of knobs that want to battle for literally every position at every chance while immediately proving they don't have the skill to do so. It has quickly become my least favorite race on iracing. Some of the most avoidable incidents and the least regard for literally anything

If ya fps was capped at say 100fps and the bad part of the track is where it dipped to 100 then you would not see any issues at all with ya fps but since ya playing uncapped your GPU will jump up and down all the time which is why when you see it drop it feels really slow. All my games inc iracing are capped now at 90fps and i have no stutter or fps drops now just smooth gameplay.

I know you’re a KZbinr; so, eye candy is important to you. But, it’s really not. Turn off the crowd and other non-essentials while recording, and see if the glitches go away. All that matters is the racing on track, after all. 🏎️
