Excellent breakdown, probably the best I have seen for this track. Do you have a full playthrough of this recorded? If so I would like to see you play it.

How do you keep the C in tune??
@davedoingguitar3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it definitely slips out often down low. My guitars aren't set up for drop tunings or anything so I just make do as best I can. I just practice through the songs and try to be aware of not being overly attacking on the strings and bends etc which can all make you sound wonky. I definitely sound a bit wonky sometimes though haha.

finally someone who shares my bad habit (at least that's what REAL guitarists keep saying :P) to play powerchords with my pinky!
@davedoingguitar Жыл бұрын
You can have the unco technique ever and still be brilliant - Zappa's picking technique, people with the strings the wrong way etc. Real guitarists play the right notes, doesn't matter how you get there! :)

@@davedoingguitar heh yeah... kurt cobain was a ring finger barre / pinky powerchorder too :D

Just really curious, why are you always teaching songs in non-standard tuning, particularly the drop D
@alvin1563 жыл бұрын
I am a big radiohead fans, for example your tutorials include Bodysnatchers, House of Cards, Jigsaw , 2+2, Optimistic. Only 15 Step is standard, most of them are drop D(or involved 6th string as D) also some Jeff buckley, Porcupine Tree Haha just wondering, have you noticed that?
@davedoingguitar3 жыл бұрын
@@alvin156 haha yeah that's true. Outside of standard tuning, drop D is probably the most common tuning guitarists use as it's very simple to tune to (only one string changes), it helps thicken up the sound, and power chords can be played with one finger meaning you have more fingers to use on other chord tones. Plus it just sounds cool and makes riffing easier haha.
@davedoingguitar3 жыл бұрын
@@alvin156 and in terms of other non-standard tunings, I just happen to like bands/get requests for songs that regularly use alternate tunings such as QOTSA and American Football etc. Plenty of standard tuning songs as well though haha
