One thing I didn't mention in the video is that the reason for moving the motor forward was that once I had it apart and counted the teeth and the transmission to compute the final ratio, the driven sprocket on the axle needed to be so large (70+ teeth) that it interfered with the "stock" mounting location, hence the need to move it in front of the spring.

Why didn't you just make the motor mounting holes elongated so that you could adjust the chain tension ? Simple easy. You could have used a lock nut on the motor instead of nut zerts. Too much overthinking the process.

Dave, you dont need a new controller. You wired it wrong. Brushless motors can run either direction, you just need to get the phase wires and halls in the correct order. With a job like this, call a pro...like us, Wild Scooter Parts. We have built many brushless setups up to 30,000 watt.

@@JRJRCrawlers, Yeah I would like to see part 2 as well. To change the motor rotation reverse the terminals inside of the connector (easy fix) I have since bought my own Dirt Quad 500 and upgraded the 3 batteries to 10Ah, added a key switch and reverse through an additional relay. The 10 mph stock speed is OK for my back yard. The 48 volt mod in this post seems unnecessary any more speed or power would just make the front spindles break quicker! IMO
