5 months late watching this interview. Must've slipped thru my radar... I'm sure someone probably mentioned this role in the comments already, but David's performance in Tales from the Hood (1995) is still one of my favorites in *any* horror movie. Straight up chilling. I remember watching it as a kid when it was released and being bewildered that he was the same dude from In Living Color. I literally went out of my way some time later to find out how he pulled it off and that's when I found out he went to Yale drama school....and that was before Google --- I had to put in that work haha.

Okay... David Alan Grier is just cold-bloodedly the funniest guy. Period. His sense of timing and dead-pan is laser sharp. There is only one person - on earth - who could pull off Al Simmons, the man with no soul. I have been a fan for a very long time. If he came anywhere near my area, I would definitely be there.
