*I LOVE DAVID! I MET HIM AT A LATE NITE CONVENIENCE STORE ABOUT '89 AS HE AND THE BAND HAD STOPPED FOR A FEW MINUTES. I ACTUALLY WALKED UP TO HIM AND ASKED HIM ABOUT HIS FORMER GUITARIST, WARREN HAYNES, AS I KNEW HIM FROM WHEN I HAD LIVED IN ASHEVILLE, NC. AS HE SHAKED MY HAND, ALL HE HAD WAS PRAISE FOR HIM AND SAID HE WAS WITH THE ALLMAN BROTHERS! THIS IS A VERY NICE AND GENTLE MAN! I WILL ALWAYS LOVE HIM! GREAT MAN!*

I wonder if this collaboration had any impact on Phil’s behavior at the time? All the members of Pantera were on this collaboration except Phil. And they called it Pantera. Maybe that pushed Phil further into doing his own thing? Not trying to stir up shit. But this is a perspective not many have considered. RIP Dimes and Big Vin 🤘🏻

The Abbott Brothers formed Pantera before Phil came around Phil just changed them from glam metal to what we all know and love of the CFH
@Wargasm644
@Wargasm644 3 жыл бұрын
@@17DEAD17DEAD Yeah, I know the story. Big Vin and Dimebag started Pantera before Phil came aboard on Power Metal album. But I was just pointing out the fact that Phil gets a lot of shit for the breakup of Pantera. But what was going on in Phil’s head when the rest of the band members did this DAC collab? Was he invited and declined? Was he already knee deep in Superjoint and Down? Or did this possibly help push him in that direction (along with other issues he had obviously)? Just a perspective I’ve never considered.

David Allen Coe is the baddest of bad boys in country western. Dime and Vinnie were the baddest of bad boys in heavy metal, and that was because they appreciated their country roots. No compromise, No pretense, No media imposed shame. Pantera said Fuck You to the politically correct pussies just like DAC is still doing. That being said, I’m gonna listen to DAC’s If This Ain’t Country, parts one and two.

There dad Jerry Abbot was a con artist , they were to . I Believe that there dad Jerry being a con artist & walking over people & treating people like shit & showing his 2 sons how to do it & how to screw over anyone just to make a buck was the family’s downfall , you reap what you sew . First his wife died , then dime & then Vinnie now he has no one it’s called KARMA or a curse thank GOD dime didn’t join Megadeth because him ,Vinnie & Jerry would have taken the band over in a hostile takeover .
