Saw Bowie in '76. Before he did this song he talked about Jim Morrison briefly. At the end, houselights went completely dark, music ends and you hear the distinct, original voice of Morrison singing "Can you hear me calling, can you hear me calling to you?" Goosebumps

David Bowie has this irresistable bohemian aura, a cultural depth; a free, curious and wild spirit that reminds me of the cultural temperament of Marcel Duchamp and his curious, contemporary lads. His vast creative industry goes beyond the music. This is what makes him so extraordinary and a cut above his contemporaries.

Rock music is a subgenre of pop music. Rap, techno, prog, ambient, you name it. There are two definitions of pop music: pop music referring to pop as a short form of "popular", and pop music referring to the genre INSIDE popular music that is characterized by mellow sound and musical simplicity. This is pop music as in popular music. Music divides into two groups: pop music and classic music.

It's not a cover at all. The music was written by Bowie and Carlos Alomar and originally performed live on one of David's tours in 1976 I think. That was before it appeared on The Idiot. Therefore It's a Bowie/Alomar song with some lyrics from Iggy. Don't get me wrong, I love Iggy Pop.I have pretty much everything he's ever done up until the late 80's It's just that saying this is a cover is pure bullshit. It's like saying McCartney singing a Beatles song in concert is a cover.

I've been 'getting pregnant' to the sound of David's voice since the early 70's. I used to replay the first few lines of Drive in Saturday, and Lets spend the night together, over and over again. There's just something about his voice that touches me , well, just 'there'. Gotta say, he's looking mighty fine here, which just adds another layer of sexiness. His 'aging rockstar' look is one of my favourites.

Shadypines, can recommend Cactus as well for a good dose of Bowiesexiness. And Heaven's in here/a certain girl (tin machine) but David's much more explicit in that one, definitely not one for the easily offended.

Actually, Bowie was the one who came up with Sister Midnight in 1976 (You can even find live versions from Bowie's Isolar tour). Later Iggy and Bowie would make changes and release it as an Iggy song
