This song and Babylon were in heavy rotation while I was a post-grad student, living outta state in Austin, Texas. Driving around town, getting to know the city during the late afternoons and into the evenings, just chilling, content. I thought I was setting up my future. Life turned out quite different from those more optimistic times. Looking back, it all just fossilized into nostalgia, which is just another word for "missed opportunities" . . . regret.

At the time I was young and a music snob and recoiled against anything that was then currently popular. Although for popular modern music I didn't think David Gray was terrible. However, because he was popular I couldn't properly open my ears to what I have over the past few years come to appreciate is one of the best popular music albums of all time. It is an exquisite work of aural beauty. As a lover of Soul music this album just oozes raw emotion. It is perfection.

I remember when I was about 3 and I was in my room playing with Lego and other toys and my dad would put this album on and it was this song which I like the most ever since that day

Now you gotta fit the dad role, play this song for someone else, I’m gonna play this song for my future children as well.

I have epilepsy and untreated panic attacks. Every morning. My panic attacks start and I immediately run into the bathroom run hot water and play this. It's the beginning of me walking myself back.

Timeless David, to everyone who broke up in 2000, you broke us all again! 20 years later this makes me smile warmly. You are a giant. One of life's enduring tracks. Thank you

I remember my dad coming out of the marines and getting my family a HP computer. I was 8 years old and would play this song while I played Red Faction, and Real War on pc. I remember how hard it was to find it online back then without buying for it haha. Now I'm 29 tomorrow and I dedicated this song to .y best friend who's a single mother and I'm a single father. No songs captures my love better than this. I'm going to marry her one day. Watch. I'll be back.
