I see something deeper and darker and sadder here. Specifically from minute 2:15 forward. Lindsay cries and inside she feels like someone worthless, who lives only to amuse people at the cost of trampling on her own human being. She even makes the rehab and vodka joke to reaffirm that. "I am a clown that serves to make people laugh. But I am worth nothing inside." And Lindsay cries keeping her smile, she cries but still crying she tries to make the others laugh. Her face (beloved and beautiful face) makes an effort to smile while crying. And also to appear funny while inside she feels that she is only useful to be made fun of. @wittywitty6352 I would have understood if she was a criminal that was on a show where they detect lies and ask for the truth. Like one of those real life cops-situations. This lady was here to get better though and she openly talked about her addiction and rehab before. She was going to rehab, she said that, it was not like she kept that a secret. But _why_ she drinks or abuses too much, is private and when she declines that question, it is rude to keep pushing it. And if you do that with 6-7 questions, it's just rudeness alltogether. Again, we're not talking about a hardened criminal here that is trying to keep the place of the dismembered body a secret. We're talking about a girl with rehab-plans.

One of the hardest things when freshly kicking an addiction is having it constantly put in your mind & being in stressful situations without your “crutch”. She was thrown into both here at once. She did so well but broke my heart to see her crying & trying so hard to hold it back & trying to crack a joke at her own expense too. Poor girl, honestly, but what a lady!!…. This is really gross. Lindsay Lohan is a deeply troubled person who obviously was making efforts to improve her life, and Letterman humiliated her. Regardless of what he thought he was doing, she felt humiliated. She looked off camera, surely at her publicist or a producer, and stated as a professional that this topic had not been cleared for discussion and Letterman was relentless. She's a former child star, which comes with its own traumas and baggage, and whether she continually relapses or not, she was trying. A person's personal struggles are not obligated to be part of their work, and doing media interviews is a contractual obligation for actors-as she said, to promote a movie, not to be embarrassed by exploitative jerks for ratings and headlines. David Letterman condemned his own reputation for professionalism and decency in this short clip.

Lindsay handled herself very well tbh she always has in interviews, here you can literally see her heart beating, you can tell she’s passionate about acting and loves to talk about her movies, some other celebrities would get very snappy and storm off but Lohan always keeps her cool through different tacts (1) Looks uncomfortable, hopes that hint would come across (2) Truthfully just answers the questions (3) Asks to not talk about it anymore (4) Make jokes and laugh it off, Lohan unfairly got slammed by the media, but she actually does have talent and class, sure she has her problems but she should have to only talk about them and dismiss her work
