My wife and I were there at that taping. While she's listened to David a lot because of me, it was her first time hearing him live. When you listen to him over and over in the car, you can get used to "here's the note"... Barely into song two of this concert, she looked at me with wide eyes and just said, "that dude can SING." There is no voice like his on the planet, and in person is a whole other experience. Other songs you should check out... No More Night, The Dream, We Shall Behold Him, Let Freedom Ring (with GVB), I Have Nothing, Nessun Dorma... there's no shortage of incredible live performances to watch. Enjoy!

I have sung this song many times in church choir, and it was played at my parents and grandparents funerals. When i first heard David sing this, i wasn't sure if i liked it because i was used to the slow, spiritual version, but then i thought...why is it always sung like that. I realized David was rejoicing and proclaiming how great God is. I heard these words in a whole different way, and i love it!

Thanks for the reaction. I was in that Barn for this typing in 2018, and for many other Barn Bash events as well. I see so many dear faces of friends in the audience, some of whom have gone on before me. That was a magical weekend. In addition to the "Hymnal" taping was the "It Must Be Christmas" taping, as well Barn Bash Summer Nights with Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers.

It was a fabulous night in the Barn, as usual. We love being in that Barn. You can see my handsome son and part of me singing along at the end.

That venue is David’s barn on his farm in Tennessee. He converted a cattle barn into a 500 seat theater. This is where his annual Labor Day Barn Bash and the Christmas Barn Bash are held.

David’s soufflé Fly Again , and Song For Sinners are ones he wrote and so moving ,, please listen to them and Of course No More Night.. there’s so many.. he’s phenomenal! I am a huge Phelps Phan🎼🎹🎤

This is a concert in his own Barn. It's an older song his barn looks incredible now. But this is exactly the kind of venue he sings in. You can see David for 35.00 in a church somewhere because he hasn't sold out is why.
