To be honest if my guide started ranting on about his love life, I would enjoy it so much more xD It's much more interesting to hear someone's personal experiences with a place than it is to get a brief explanation of it's history.

All I'm saying is that it's far more engaging to me and I'd appreciate a location a lot more if there was something more personal connecting me and that place together. If a tour guide went on a rant about his love life and involved his tour in that, that would be the best tour I'd have ever had.
