A refreashing perspective. I agree with you. I think. I want to read more and hear more on this topic. This answers a lot of questions I had. For example, if we are immortal by default--- why is the Tree of Life on the New Earth? Why would we need to eat that. You are right only God is eternal! And His gift of eternal life is a gift for all who trust in Him!

Scripture literally says only the saved will gain immortality. Yet many Christians claim the lost will be embodied immortal forever in fire.

CORRECT! God is the ONLY Source of Life. If the connection beween God and you is broken, HOW can you have life???! It is IMPOSSIBLE! It is like expecting the light to shine out of an electric lamp that is NOT connected to a power point. 1. John 5:12 - “He who has the Son has life, he who does NOT have the Son of God, HAVE NO LIFE.” End of story.

Certainly food for thought, David. This is the same belief as Jehovah's Witnesses' and Seventh Day Adventists and one I've personally struggled with. What would you say the second death is, if the partakers of the first resurrection will have no part in the 2nd death: REV 20:4-6? My story of eternal torment is opposite to yours, all my life believing what you do now and flipping to eternal torment within the last few years, say 2-3 years max. Now I'm somewhere in between, I'm still searching the scriptures. 🙏Thanks for the video and God bless.❤

This teaching is extremely pleasing to the sinful nature of man. Non existence is eternal rest and peace, with no labours nor burdens, no pain, no regret. As a punishment it is LITERALLY NOTHING. If I were fully convinced of this I would say, "What a relief! No need for tears and labours in ensuring people find salvation, for they do not need saving from anything. If they don't WANT to live forever then that's fine, they can get what they want without concern. And I need not worry any more about myself either..." So will the same thing happen to the devil and the beast and the false prophet? Will they also cease to exist in the same way, for as far as I know they are tortured forever and never said to be erased from existence. But if this is so then how is THEIR finite sin and infinite punishment justified while those who follow them are being treated unfairly? And the punishment for their followers is because they would FOREVER choose evil and rebellion against the eternal God and NEVER FOR ALL ETERNITY would choose to repent. Is this not an INFINITE SIN??!? Clearly as you said there are warnings which are repeated which plainly state that people will suffer forever, and in trying to understand these alongside the ones which say they will INSTEAD suffer a "destruction" or "eternal death", both must be united in a way where they can both be true. To go for the annihilation option DOES NOT make them both true, but to go for the "eternally dying" option DOES allow them to harmonise, while being in PERFECT OPPOSITION to "eternally living". Annihilation: The Lord has given and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord! Nothing was lost...

I wonder why there needs to be a place for destruction. Things which are erased from existence do not have ANY place! Always remember that the Lord told us not to lean on our own understanding. We can search the scriptures, but then have to use our understanding. We should ASK GOD...

Very good arguments. One question. What about the Revelation quote, where it says, that sinners will be thrown into the lake of fire and be tromented for ever and ever? How does that go along with Annihilism. I always found that the hardest one to explain.

I think people donot have a clear and solid understanding of the concept of JUST, JUSTIFIED and EQUAL JUSTICE. The absence of these things and their understanding, leads people into all kinds of different corrupt and deceitful ideas regarding God's RIGHTEOUSNESS and God's JUST and JUSTIFIED EQUAL JUSTICE. EQUAL JUSTICE means the REWARD/PUNISHMENT applies EQUALLY on BOTH sides. The PUNISHMENT applies EQUAL to ALL. The REWARD applies EQUAL to ALL. If Jesus paid for your sins than what good things that person did that needs to be rewarded? If you don't believe in Jesus, than what sins do that person has that needs to be punish? Even if you did good things, you will be rewarded after you get out of PRISON. But if you get a death penalty, than what good is your rewards when you are dead? The best way to understand God's RIGHTEOUSNESS is to look at PERFECTION first and then at the FALL from God"s perfection. Children born in PRISON for no fault at their own, need to desire to give up the GETO MENTALITY they learn in prison. I know it's hard for people to imagine being born in prison under the death penalty already, without doing anything. But that's exactly how Jesus came to live with us, born in the prison and explaining us the JUDGMENT day that EVERYONE has to be ACCOUNTED FOR. It's one thing to do something because you don't know any better. But it's a completely different PUNISHMENT for those who have FULL KNOWLEDGE and commit crimes with FULL KNOWLEDGE. DECEPTION is way way bigger and way more cunning than people can imagine. I cannot help people who don't want to be helpt. When it comes to JUDGMENT the thing that matters most is A STATEMENT and the EVIDENCE. That's why some people are going to say Lord Lord, and Jesus doesn't know them. All what these people did, they did it FOR THEMSELVES. They already received their rewards. They did NOTHING FOR JESUS. True SALVATION has to be preached from BOTH SIDES: the REWARD side, and the PUNISHMENT side. The REWARD has to be explained correctly. And the PUNISHMENT has to be explained correctly. JESUS is in the middle. On which side of JESUS are you? On the REWARD side, or on the PUNISHMENT side? That's where we are BEFORE the 1000 year SABBATH: some people will REST (Hebrews 4:1-11) , ..... while others are going to KEEP WORKING HARD. All glory to Lord God Almighty and Jesus Christ my savior, blessed be his NAME forever and ever. Numbers 6:24-27 Revelation 22:4-5

The wages of sin is death. Not torture. One might get tortured as they are dying and, then shortly after, die. When a person gets throw into a pit of fire they die. Plain and simple. And Scripture says death of the body and soul in hell. Not an illusion of death where the soul and consciousness lives on forever in torment. Death of both and then no more. Just like death the first time and ones spirit returns to the One that gave it, for holding/safe keeping - For the day of judgement, except this time God destroys mans soul too. No return to sender.

1 Corinthians 15 King James Version 15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: 6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. 7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. 8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. 9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 11 Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed. 12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: 14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. 15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. 16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: 17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. 18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. 19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. 20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. 24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. 27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. 28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all. 29 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead? 30 And why stand we in jeopardy every hour? 31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. 32 If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die. 33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. 34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame. 35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? 36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: 37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain: 38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. 39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. 40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. 41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. 47 The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven. 48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. 49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

If Jesus is the Life (Life eternal) and death means separation from God ..then that is what needs to understood. Studying death in the book of Revelation makes it clear to me what will happen to those who do not receive Life (Jesus ) and all that entails according to Jesus Himself… Why would God have a judgement day and say He’s coming soon and will bring His wages and rewards with Him to repay and render to each one what their own actions and own work merit ? Death being separation from God is what Adam got for sin. They were put out of the Garden so they could not eat the tree of Life and would then stay in the Garden forever which is where they walked purely with God. They were separated at that point. No eternal Life in Gods presence because of sin. Then physical death came and their spirit was separated from the body and will be paid wages (wages of sin are death ) or rewards given to those who are true Christians. To me it’s simple. Why give wages ie death ie separation from God if you just stop existing?

Seems the Bible leads us towards a FOURTH view: that of paying your debt. Just as we read in Matthew 18 where Jesus says: "“For this reason the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his slaves. When he had begun to settle them, one who owed him ten thousand talents was brought to him. But since he did not have the means to repay, his lord commanded him to be sold, along with his wife and children and all that he had, and repayment to be made. So the slave fell to the ground and prostrated himself before him, saying, ‘Have patience with me and I will repay you everything.’ And the lord of that slave felt compassion and released him and forgave him the debt. But that slave went out and found one of his fellow slaves who owed him a hundred denarii; and he seized him and began to choke him, saying, ‘Pay back what you owe.’ So his fellow slave fell to the ground and began to plead with him, saying, ‘Have patience with me and I will repay you.’ But he was unwilling and went and threw him in prison until he should pay back what was owed. So when his fellow slaves saw what had happened, they were deeply grieved and came and reported to their lord all that had happened. Then summoning him, his lord *said to him, ‘You wicked slave, I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me. Should you not also have had mercy on your fellow slave, in the same way that I had mercy on you?’ And his lord, moved with anger, handed him over to the TORTURERS UNTIL he should REPAY ALL that was owed him. My heavenly Father will also do THE SAME to you, if each of you does not forgive his brother from your heart.” If Jesus becomes your Savior, your debt is forgiven you. If you then don't obey Him, but do wickedly towards others, the cancellation of your debt is cancelled. Meaning you are no longer saved from paying your debt yourself. (If you never repented and found mercy, you are automatically on your way to paying your own debt.) Now, what happens AFTER the debt is fully paid, is not yet fully clear to me. It's a parable to make a certain point. Best not stretch it beyond it's limits, I guess. Revelation 14: 9-11 reports: "Then another angel, a third one, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever; THEY HAVE NO REST DAY AND NIGHT, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.” This undergoing God's wrath and having no rest does imply, that one will consciously undergo this wrath in this fire. How long will it take? If you've ever burned however tiny a part of your body, you know how intensely that hurts! When that takes longer than a second, you are indeed in torment. The Bible also teaches 'an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth', which is again a very fair judgement. You've caused others to suffer? You will have to undergo the same suffering! Only having Jesus as your Savior frees you from this ordeal. To me it's clear, that it means, that if you have been unjust in any way, the same injustice you MUST undergo. The uncaught murderers and cheaters of this world won't get away with anything. And it will be TOO LATE for repentance, after the judgement is passed. Then one WILL have to REPAY ALL. That payback time will not be shortened, no matter how much one then pleads, until ALL is payed for. Hebrews 10: 31 doesn't warn in vain: "It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God."

If we are to believe in the resurrection of the dead (which we must if we are to believe Scripture), then ALL are raised, and raised immortal--for mortality must put on immortality, and Death gives up the dead (Rev 20). Since all are raised "to life" immortal and Death is tossed into the Lake of Fire, there is no way those raised can ever die again. The "second death" for those whose names are not written in the Book of Life go on forever separated from God, forever dead in their trespasses, eternally "dead" but eternally conscious, a "resurrection of judgment" in "eternal fire". Daniel 12:2 "Many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these to everlasting life, but the others to disgrace and everlasting contempt." This is the plain teaching of Scripture.
@alranucci7770

Wow! You're missing the point because you are ignoring/disregarding/forgetting Judgement. You're also incorrectly paraphrasing Scripture. You misread and then assume everyone raised is raised and given immortality without the Judgement. Lazarus was raised but Not to immortality, correct? Yes, all mankind is resurrected but to final judgement (of body and soul). Those not deemed worthy are then thrown down into hell fire to be utterly consumed both body and soul. That's the 2cd death which is forever. Then we who are deemed worthy are given new robes ie immortality and then enter into heaven.
