Dave I wouldn’t worry about what other people think. Keep doing what you’ve been doing. I’ve been watching your videos since the beginning and I’ve enjoyed them all. Thank you. On a side note you should bring back some of your videos from The past. A lot of us would love to see them. Again thanks for all the videos.

I'm glad you have the interest and gumption to do these videos Dave, because for me, it brings back fond memories of the times I did pretty much the same things....first time I went camping was with my Dad, we hiked 7 miles into Fish Lake, (He carried me, my little pack, and His the last mile). I did make it all the way out, going out it was mostly downhill.....I was hooked, and have been camping ever since, until my Wife of 58 years was invalided by several strokes.....She needs care, and I'm it. I can still get out for a couple three hours periodically, and Treasure every outing. it's not the same without Her there to see and enjoy with me tho.....when you can GO ! don't wait GO ! ...and keep going Dave...We'll stay with ya Brother, and THANKYOU !..........OnWard.........

My Brother your a Legend 🥰 and deserve everything you've worked extremely hard for🤩 anyone saying anything else is not worth your time. I'm not only watching your shows with my kids but hopefully one day my grandchildren for the vast amount of knowledge, so please keep all your videos uploaded. And remember everything was expensive when it's produced first but eventually will come down and be available to everyone. Keep up with the great work 🤩

Here’s you a really funny squirrel hunting story. My entire life my grandfather told me when he was young they “barked” squirrels cause they were poor and couldn’t afford ammo or small caliber rifles. Basically you don’t shoot the squirrel you shoot the branch the squirrel is on and bonk him on the head with the butt of the rifle when he hits the ground. Grandpa was a WW2 vet golden gloves boxer and a bit intimidating. I listened to that story for about 30 years until one day I got brave and said “grandpa I think that story is BS and you are full of crap” he looked at me serious for a sec and said: “damn boy I was beginning to think you were stupid. I’ve been telling you that lie for 30 years now” 😂 😂 😂

Barking a squirrel comes from the days of the muzzle loaders where you had a .45 or .50 cal and you didn't want to blow the animal into small pieces. You'd shoot just below it and the bark would hit the squirrel killing it.

I remember watching you Dave many years ago after turning off most wilderness survival shows. Within 10 minutes I said " finally, a man that is realistic, tough and a wealth of knowledge. I grew up in the woods, had no training and fell flat on my face many times. The skills you teach are vital and your demeanor makes people want to learn. Keep it up man, the world needs more men, ( teachers ) like you!.

Been watching you from the beginning and you have taught me a lot. Never feel bad about owning nice/expensive things. Those things are the reward for all the hard work and countless hours grinding it out. I constantly hear “it must be nice”to own that truck, camper, etc in a sarcastic tone. I always tell those people nothing is stopping them from working extra shifts or having two jobs, or living within their means in order to save money. Be proud of what you have accomplished!

When I use a 3 person tent at a campground I like to put a tarp down then packing blanket then tent making shore to dig a small trench around the tent in case it rains, better the water go around the tent than thru it. I usually forget the trench until it rains. I have used a sleeping bag on the floor of the tent many times this way and sometimes I use a pad but the shipping blanket is a warm barrier.

Dave thanks for your honesty, as 12:27 on this video I understand why your doing what you are presently doing. Being able to afford the high end stuff is fine, just don't flaunt it, WHICH YOU DO NOT DO. If I waited until I was 52 for my only new vehicle I'd be proud too. I did just that at the age of 43 when I bought a brand new GMC S-15 pickup, the only new vehicle I've ever owned. I drove it for 10years, it finally wore out. Even though many of us can't afford all your high end gear, it is still important to see the options that we have. If I want one of those inflatable pads, I just have to find the way to pay for it, Not be jealous of your having one. I really want one of your Path Finder Trade Knives. As It appears I will just have to wait for one. ;-)

Don't worry about what other people think dave (I know you dont) I've been with you since the beginning, and you have the things you have and are at the place you're at in your life because you've put in the work! If other people want what you have, they need to stop nit picking in the comment section, get out there and earn it.

Hell yeh Dave!! You are definitely in the category of Nessmuk and Kephart!! Our modern day number one woodsman!! Been following you for like 10 years now, met you in Indianapolis with my 2 kids at your seminar and I thrive and survive in the woods thanks to you. My number one thing to do is wilderness canoe trips, I think you would love the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in northern Minnesota. Check it out, as well as Sigurd Olson, excellent author! All about the area and the singing wilderness! Thanks Dave!!

I am a long time subscriber and learner from your channel, and I wasn't into the ultra light weight modern equipment. That is until last year (I think) when you put the Nesmuk mentality into the equation. Then it all clicked for me. As you grow I (we) grow, so I say thank you Dave!

Dave thank you for the eye opener as a guy who can barely afford the cheapest of the cheap I felt envious. I didn't consider or know your situation. I am glad to be a subscriber to your channel and give all the likes that I can. I hope you do well in all your endeavors. You have the best bushcraft channel on KZbin. Please keep up the great work and can't wait to see the nest one!

No need to explain yourself Dave. Just keep doing what you’re doing. I’ve been enjoying the evolution of you and your channel. Your Gladiator build has triggered a lot of great ideas. How you’ve approached it is no different than how you approach self-reliance and being outdoors. Thanks for all you do
