Just before Christmas I met a girl in a Manchester nightclub, we talked and after the club closed we talked some more in the street. She hugged then kissed me then left. I went home and found the White Ladder CD left for me as a Christmas present from my sister. A few months earlier I'd been almost destroyed by a failed relationship but was ready to try again. I heard this song and it broke me. A year later I married that girl from the nightclub and that was fifteen years ago, we're still married. I still love this song.

My best friend passed away in 2005, one of the last things we did before he got really sick was go see David play live. He had leukaemia and then one spring morning in 2005 he was gone.
