Galatians 3:6-9 - Father Abraham Had Many Sons

We show our believe by what we DO. The same with righteousness… it’s what we DO not what we think. When we obey God, we show [do]that we love God and we also show [do] how we follow Christ [the righteousness of God]. If you’re not obeying [doing], you’re not credited righteousness because you’re not following righteousness

In order not to be self righteous, Abraham’s standing should see himself as having right standing and credited righteousness THROUGH what’s righteous: Christ So WHEN he wasn’t following righteousness, we saw the difference. Abram nor Sarah had faith before God gave them the desire of their heart which was Isaac. That’s how merciful and loving God was to a faithless people

Actually when Abraham was still called Abram, his belief in the Lord is what God accounted to him as righteousness. They were still Abram and Sarai at that time. There was no Isaac at that time. James wasn’t saying that Abraham didn’t have faith until he did good works. James was explaining that having faith leads you to do good works. Abram’s righteousness came by belief. Not by works. Because there is nothing we can do to earn salvation.

I know you explained the difference between believing God and believing IN God, but I don’t know that there was a difference in the Old Testament. Paul said what he said based on scripture from Genesis 15:6 And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

Abraham found it by performing faith works. God saw his faith by what he DID in faith. It was performative in that it was obedience and his experience. Right standing is from both

The works of faith are a result of faith works don’t save users

I know you’re going based on the Book of James- faith without works is dead… That being said, surely you don’t think God couldn’t/didn’t see Abraham’s faith until he acted on it? All knowing, for seeing God? Paul was going off scripture from Genesis 15:6 And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness. This was before Isaac was ever born. Before Sarah was ever with child. Abraham’s faith accounted him righteous long before he took Isaac to sacrifice.
