Glorious sermon and exposition of the book Esther. Loved the prayer at the end: "Now LORD, may Your Spirit of truth take all that we've shared and plant it deep within in our spirits and transform our characters to make us more ready for the day when the Son of Man comes on the clouds of glory." AMEN ❤️

Probably this Daniel and Esther video is most inspiring. First time I understood to read bible as I am going to meet the great biblical figures when our Lord Jesus Christ comes on the cloud to gather us. Dear David Pawson today my faith in the bible is increased multifold. This video applies to me who is living in India with other communities and mixing in their culture and systems. You have strengthened my faith.

Wonderful. I find it astonishing when people say "there's no mention of God in Esther", or question if the book should have been in the Bible! The whole book-every verse, from start to finish-is God's voice, God's Word, God's Spirit. The book of Esther is God telling us the most wonderful story of how He saved His people-how can anyone read it and claim they heard nothing about its Author!

I wonder if during the time 00:40 of Daniel and Esther, Daniel's 21 days of prayer unanswered was due to Haman's plot that required the angels help Against the Angelical Persia Prince who wanted to destroy all Jews in the 120 provinces?

Mr. Pawson, may I ask your opinion? According to Esther at 4:11, "approaching the king" was a very dangerous thing to do. So how was it that, at 2:22, Esther was able to quickly inform the king of the plot to kill him? (I have an idea about this, but I'd like to know your idea.)
@DavidPawsonMinistry3 жыл бұрын
HI John - not sure if you are aware but David 'ascended to be with our Lord on Ascension Day 2020. I wish David were still with us to ask, so the answer may or may not be the answer he would give but perhaps Esther 4:11 refers to the protective measures of security around the kin that would not allow anyone to approach the Kin without a specific appointment and by his agreement. In Esther 2:22 she is Queen and would have access to him that no one else would have she had 'favour' with the King which went beyond her good looks!
@johnbuchan36783 жыл бұрын
No I wasn't aware about David. But frankly, I'm very happy to communicate with anyone who enjoys contributing to clearer, more reasonable answers to Bible questions. I’m concerned about assuming that Esther had regular access to the king for 2:22 but not for 4:11, for two reasons. The first is that if Esther had been able to easily approach the king at 2:22, then the weight of her statement at 4:11 (everyone knows that an “uninvited interrupter” risks his life) would be minimized. The second is that it would make Xerxes appear inconsistent. I imagine that the situation at 2:22 really stressed Esther, she realized that she had to risk her life to discreetly but firmly tell the king that Bigthan and Teresh (the door guards whom Xerxes had likely personally selected to protect himself from assassins) were about to assassinate him. And since Mordecai hadn't mentioned when they would strike, Esther also likely realized that she had to act immediately.

16:09 What did Dr Pawson mean when he said Read the living bible not in translation? Should I read it in the hebrew?
@DavidPawsonMinistry Жыл бұрын
HI David actually says "Read it in the Living Bible - a Modern Translation and you will be fascinated :" The "Living Bible" IS a modern translation You can read it in the Hebrew - if you can read Hebrew but most of us are not trained in Hebrew David is suggesting reading in a modern translation eg "The Living Bible "because it is a wonderful story to read

Just to clarify: the four letters of God are actually YHWH - not JVWH. His name is “Yahweh.” The name “Jehovah” is a corruption of God’s name and the name that Jehovah’s Witnesses use.
