I discovered David Pawson when a friend told me that it was so sad what he passed away, I come from a only spanish speaking country and I had no idea of him until that year I think it was 2020 or 2021, but the thing is, I cannot stop listening to him since I discovered him. I may not agree with everything he says but I love the way he teaches, his zeal his authority, how clear he is to explain everything. He really makes me want to read the bible, again, so I am doing that, and I am following along with the videos. I just discover that this video was recoded in February 1995, I was 20 years old at that time and I didnt know english. I am so glad the Lord taught me how to speak english so today I can listen to this gems. Thanks to the ministry, please keep doing what you are doing, you may not see the fruit of your efforts here but sincerily it is changing lives around the world.

I appreciate the message very much, but I believe that the Book of Job (and the rest of the Bible) is the precise and literal truth. "Faction", or "Factual Fiction" is not how I read the book. David Pawson questions when and how it was recorded, and whether Job and his friends spoke in elegant poetic speech. He states that people typically don't speak in fully-formed poetry. This is true, but the poetry in Job isn't like modern poetry with rigid rhymes and meter. This is poetry of ideas, and much easier for a trained mind to compose extemporaneously. As to who wrote it down, I believe it was divinely revealed to the author, in whatever form and at whatever time.
@manofgod3218 ай бұрын
I’m quite sure the New Testament writers didn’t regard the story of Job as fictionalised in any way or artificial because the Apostle Paul actually quotes the companion of Job - Eliphaz - in 1 Corinthians 3:19 to support the things he wrote to the Church in Corinth.

My own brother said this to me. He said that because of some obscure verse in the Bible (that I'm pretty sure was taken far out of context and was not God's word.) That because I did not scream, it was not rape. And since I had not confessed my sin of sexual immorality I was sinning before God and that's why I was suffering. I never did tell him I could not have screamed. And our relationship has never recovered.
@DavidPawsonMinistry2 жыл бұрын
Hi Martha we understand the pain you have experienced - Rape is every situation where you do not consent to having sex . The verse may be Deuteronomy Chapter 22 vs 24 and if so, your brother is completely misquoting the verse. The context is about marriage violations and in fact its about when divorce is permitted its definitely NOT about rape ! If we can help you in any way please email us conact@davidpawson.net we will get a very caring, older lady to try to assist you and pray with you that the Lord may heal you of your pain

As a fellow Christian that is very grateful for David Pawson and his ministry, i should point out that his assessment of the accuser (Satan) is inaccurate. The enemy of GOD was not an angel reporting humanity's sins in Job's time, he was already the serpent that had tempted Adam and Eve in Eden before the history of Job.
@amcds28672 жыл бұрын
@@martinmartin6300 No, because angels of GOD don't tempt people to sin against HIM. So the serpent in the garden of Eden is the accuser of man in the story of Job, and therefore already a fallen angel.
@amcds28672 жыл бұрын
@@martinmartin6300 well, when David mentions the accuser as an angel, he is somewhat correct because there are only 2 kinds of Angels, and David did'nt specify which kind, so i'm assuming he meant 'fallen' angel.

There is a whole branch of philosophy dealing with the problem of suffering, called 'theodicy'. I think the answer is that God accomplishes through this evil world things that couldn't otherwise be accomplished. I've made a couple of videos elaborating this.

27:10 "Proverbs are generally true, not always true" but how are we suppose to have known that??!! He uses Proverbs 3:5,6 as an example but when we conclude its "generally true" then we're totally leaning upon our own understanding. It's not poetry or purely written allegorically so how are we expected by God to be able to properly differentiate? There's a great deal subtlety there 33:50 "he got thru to the point where he didn't need an answer to his question. And that's really the point of peace; it's not finding the answer to your questions but it's getting to the point in your relationship w Gpd that you don't need them"
@justinchamberlain34433 жыл бұрын
26:45 "It's in God's word but it isn't God's word" bc the Bible records men's opinions-remarkable distinction 27:01 Interesting take that the book of proverbs is not "the book of promises" and that prov3:5,6 may not happen all the time. A fascinating concept that could perhaps be true but if one believes I enough I think one could dramatically shift if not completely that outcome 32:10 Addresses the idea that if you're sick then you sinned. Its another fascinating point but it given our society's present condition most probably of are sick bc of sin but this one of the crucial pressing issues of Job
@Gettin_chunky3 жыл бұрын
He has a fundamental misunderstanding of how inspiration works. No one had to record it as things were said just like the apostles didn’t. The Holy Spirit gives them the facts. The original wording of the men may not have been poetic but we have the essence of what was said
@elyhew72322 жыл бұрын
I love David but disagree with the assessment of Satan as becoming cynical as its not biblical. There are things we don't know so let's not guess.Additionally, can God not do anything so why can't the book of Job be literal. If Genesis is to believed why not Job? Could God not have given Job's friends the gift of speech?
@miketsionas80125 жыл бұрын
The whole point of the Book of Job is that Job was right and The Lord admitted it right in the face of his friends. David says something important in the lecture. "Weak". Look for it. I don't agree with the term as there are much better terms. Also, satan in Old Testament is not the Satan we know, for "satan" just means "prosecutor". Try to correlate prosecutor (the DA say) and "weak".

If you want to get to a real understanding of the Book of Job, then I recommend you listen to all six-parts of the KZbin series by John Pople 'To Speak Well Of God'; here is the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmaUmIiggNyNZ7M I enjoy listening to David Pawson, and have benefited from much of what he has said, but I disagree with his teaching of the Trinity, and he does not understand what the Devil/Satan/Serpent represent. The clue to understanding the Devil/Satan/Serpent is to recognize the association with human nature and the use of personification as a literary style of writing. There is only one thing that is enmity with God, and is spoken of by the Apostle Paul and it is; the carnal mind. This is the battle and the victory Jesus won to overcome the carnal mind. That is why Jesus had to be a man and could not be God. In the Kingdom of God, the carnal mind will no longer exist in those who have been resurrected and given immortal bodies. This is why, Gods Holy Angels cannot sin; it is an oxymoron to think that immortal beings can ever sin. The Adamic nature which was created by God. had the freedom of choice, hence when tested, the carnal mind was within Adam and Eve to have the propensity to sin. God's plan is explained in the parable of 'The Wheat and Tares' told by Jesus. Hence in the Kingdom of God, there will be only righteousness.

Good question. Remember God is God of order, and also work...Adam was to tend the Garden not sit around all day. We were and Angel's created to serve...and to serve God...so everybody has a job to do. That's why. That why God sends his Angel's to do his work. Even at the End. Everybody has a job and function in Heaven.. God shares this to us. It's a blessing

-_- how can he say satan was originally an angel that reported sins when satan was the one who caused the first humans to commit the first sin in the first place🤦♂️ Pawson has some good thoughts a lot of the time but the "god is dead" "faction" and "policeman satan who became cynical" claims are 🚮
@DavidPawsonMinistry3 жыл бұрын
HI Chris you do raise an interesting point but firstly where did David say ''god is dead''? I cannot find that one in the transcript or any other talk David has delivered We agree it was Satan who caused humans to sin in the first place and David does not say anything to contradict that Also I cannot find any reference to ''Policeman Satan'' But your statement has caused me to read Job again - ''One day the Angels came to God to present themselves'' So God holds meetings with the Angels and holds them to account where have they been and He asked Satan ''where have you been?'' God then invited Satan to report back on what he thought of 'HIS servant Job'' ? - God considered Job blameless and upright a man who fears GOD David is saying God gave Satan permission to report back anything that Job could be blamed for ........(chapters 1 and 2). God even gave permission to Satan to try and cause Job to fall At the start of Chapter 2 God again invites Satan to report back on ''HIS servant Job Satan repeatedly goes out trying to cause Job to sin so he can report back Jobs failings .......... but Job refuses to yield to temptation Try as he may Satan tries to cause Job to sin timed time again and fails ...and in my opinion the book of Job portrays Satan as cynical David does not refer to ''Policeman Satan'' but uses the analogy with a Christian Policeman who may find it hard to believe anyone is really good 00:22:24,159 --> 00:22:30,159 which you can easily become cynical. It's very hard being a Christian policeman; you 207 00:22:30,159 --> 00:22:36,571 see so much of the bad side of human nature, it’s very hard not to become cynical, so 208 00:22:36,571 --> 00:22:42,590 cynical that you can't believe anybody's really good.

@@DavidPawsonMinistry I appreciate the response. I want to state that I appreciate the work David Pawson has done and I do believe that he means well but this is exactly why these little misunderstandings need to be corrected/addressed. He mentions the "god is dead" stuff several times during the this Old Testament study. I did not make a note of all the instances but if you check the very first video (Part 1) of this playlist you will hear him at around the 17 minute mark. God Is Always the Living God. He's the One and Only Living God, so saying that "God is dead" is never acceptable, no matter how one tries to spin it around. Secondly, in reference to the satan stuff. David basically claims satan was not always cynical and only became so because he was tired of seeing so many humans sinning. That's just not true at all. Satan was the one who tempted humanity to sin in the very first place. He was not a good officer who got jaded from watching us fall short, he was an enemy to humanity from the very beginning and his challenge to God was an attempt at making Job lose favor with God so that he may lose grace and then curse God instead of praising Him. He was basically trying to ruin the loving relationship that God and Job had so that Job may lose salvation/life. Essentially the same goal that he had with Adam and Eve and Jesus and with every other person that he ever tried to tempt away from God. Sin separates us from God and the wages of sin is death. God is Salvation/Life. This means that he who causes others to sin is a Thief and a Murderer. And that's exactly why Jesus says "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy" These things matter and are important for having a proper understanding of Scripture/Reality

I've watch all of the talks up till now, and I've liked all of them except this one.. Devil is not spiritual, What? Pawson is saying he is an Angel but not spiritual... What? He cant be in multiply places at once, what??!! God asked if the devil has seen Job along his way doesn't mean the devil is in one place at a time. The devil is not a horned monster that goes around doing mischief. He is anti-truth, anti-Christ, and anti-God. His whole purpose is to lead people away from the truth which IS spiritual. The devil is everywhere, like a roaring lion, always looking for whom to devour!! So we must pick up our sword, shield, etc (truth) to be strong against the evil one.
