😮 how many thousands can say ye learned fae Davie Mcphail . What always surprises me is ye think he can't put anything else on that fly he'll never get a nice finished head but low and behold he pulls out more deer hair 😂. Amazing sir. 👏🏻🙌🏻

I know when I see that I am cringing, "NO NO NO the head!", but he has no fear.

This is one of the best fly’s that I have fished with on the dropper or on the point it has caught me more fish than any other in my fly box and it was one of your own so keep up the good work Davie we love your videos 👍🏴🎣

Mr. Hughes, thank you for your reply reference the dry fly/wet fly question. Looks to me to be a very versatile pattern indeed. I look forward to fishing the Hedgehog patterns on my home waters here in Montana this season. Jim Seaman

Mr. Seaman. It's a small world, I'm also from Montana and looking forward to fishing this fly on the local lake near me. I think I'll tie an olive version as that seems to be a favorite color of the fish there. Good luck fishing, be safe, enjoy your time afield.

Hi Davie another masterpiece. Is there any chance you could do a video on how to dye deer hair. I have a full roe deerskin and want to cut it in to patches and dye them different colours. Also how to bleach it to produce white. Cheers and keep the videos coming. 🎣
@DavieMcPhail7 жыл бұрын
Hi Eddy, I dye the deer hair just the same way as the peacock but I would make sure the dye was well into the deer hair before you add the vinegar as you'll get a better result...I've only once tried to bleach some materials and I destroyed them so I've never tried doing it again...I'm glad you enjoyed the video and many thanks for the kind words.. All the very best Davie..

Davie, I have been tying for 50 years. I now have a control problem with my right hand ( radiation damage) which makes tying more challenging. Your videos keep me inspired. Thank you. Is the Hedgehog series dry flies! Are they primarily for trout? I am fascinated by the pattern. Jim Seaman Darby, Montana USA
