#hangovergang forever 🤙🏽 Tom has a wild back story. I apologize for this long post. Some of your comments reminded me so much of myself, I got comment diarrhea (gross symbolism, sorry). I only share this with you as I am impressed at how well you have your head screwed on right and I feel you will take to heart what is being said (I don’t share this info with just anybody). If any of my phrases seem weird, feel free to ask (I am a 65 year old Hispanic American - 2nd gen - and I sometimes use slang from when I was your age, a long, long time ago). ***Personal Opinion on Tom***: I think part of the anger Tom has towards the corporate music industry is due him buying into the message presented by rappers. He wound up depressed, messed up on alcohol and came close to suicide. He couldn’t pay his bills AND was evicted, living on the street until he went back and lived at his mom’s for 9 months, fully disconnected from the world, not even interacting with other humans. He finally made his way back and has nothing nice to say about the music industry labels or the message they push to the mainstream. He will not compromise and had no choice but to be truly independent. His music is also his therapy for the darkness of the depression and anxiety - that monster never goes away, I know because I’ve tried to kill the one lurking in my shadows. His spoken word joints are also good for backstory. As you react to more of Tom’s tracks, you will see why there are 3 groups of people that listen to Tom’s tracks: 1. The haters. Never gonna change and the #hangovergang will always just wave🖕🏽🖕🏿🖕🏼 2. Group 3 includes me and many others - keeping it real af: 3. We are people that have done battle with our own demons, such as alcohol, drugs, other addictions and depression. Many of us have even been close to suicide but we kept hanging on (kzbin.info/www/bejne/g3XUfIuVocylh5I). We still fight our demons but we refuse to give them power over us. While Tom’s music is therapy for him, it’s also a source of strength for us. The thing that gives us the greatest power over the darkness is knowing we are not alone. Lastly, some things I’ve learned after flipping the bird to Death 3 times: *: Life is full of absurdity. When non-critical shit happens (I.e. bought the wrong car part or the car part breaks), treat is as an absurdity and laugh your ass off at it. That takes all the power away from absurdities. Things like dyslexia are also absurdities (I have it bad but joke about it because, well you know, it’s ABSURD!). *: Life is a grand adventure. And, just like any roller coaster, there are scary parts and there are the thrills. All you have to remember is to Hold On Tight and enjoy the ride. Substances like alcohol and drugs don’t enhance the adventure, they will however, muddy the experience. *: You are not alone. No matter what struggles or challenges you may face, others have been there. There is no shame in the struggle, it’s what makes us stronger, like lifting weights. As we lift more, we get stronger but, there is a time when every weight lifter takes on a little more than they can safely handle and the ask someone to be a spotter, just in case. The only shame in life is when we are trying to “lift” more than we are able, to not seek help from a spotter. There are lots of people who are willing to serve as a “spotter” when asked. #hangovergang forever - for life 🤟🏽🤟🏼🤟🏿

Tom & Dax have been friends for some time, they have 2 other songs together, Propaganda & Blame The Rappers. Fun fact, when Tom & Adam heard Dax's verse, they re-wtote their verses. Then went back to their original verses to let Dax's verse shine. Ended up adding their re-written verses to another track on their Brave 2 album. Tom and Dax been friends for a long time. Adam done an interview with Simba and Adam said he would never do a song with Tom. He really didn’t like him. So Tom got his number to Adam. Because Tom and Adam and Dax are each independent artist with no label affiliation.. the labels, radio, bought rappers.. all hate them. If you happen to check out more from Tom, keep in mind he produces his own beats according to his mood and owns his masters. All independent bangers/vibes. He doesn't try to be "controversial," he's just honest (talented poet), the reason Dax f*cks with him, maybe too honest for fragile little "woke" feelings, and they've tried to cancel him several times. That being said, he has a lot of young fans and families who LOVE his dope music. Go figure, right? Great reaction. HOG stands for hangovergang. Hangover gang initially is what Tom called his close circle of friends that he would go out and party with. He said the the term stood for having the best time of your life. Over time when he started music he gave that name to his Fanbase. And of course he was drinking and on drugs at that time however, as he became sober, the term “hangovergang” still means having the best time of your life, but without drugs or alcohol!

So fun story about this video. When doc sent over his verse to Tom and Adam, they were mind-blown. He did double the amount of bars and his verse was so dope, They actually were going to rewrite their verses to match the level of his. In the end, they decided to keep their original verses to this song and change the beat. The verses that they rewrote became the song Race War. There's another video for that one as well. Something you have to understand about Tom though, is he at heart is a rapper, but really he's a true artist. You can listen to something like ashes which is like a hard rock rap type situation, and then there's something super hard that punches in the guy like don't look down and this house. His political stuff is really good, he creates conversation where conversation is needed. But I'm telling you right now, his non-political stuff is actually his best. You need something to lift you up. You got fighter. You got someone dealing with cancer, he has a song named cancer. You want a diss track? Lol Mac lethal disk saga. You want to hear some hillbilly hip hop, you got Tom doing a video with John Rich from Big& Rich.. Tom flows in and out of genres Like nobody else. After Tom's mental breakdown sober for like 8 months, and then he had to relapse. After a stint back in the scene, he got sober again, or was trying to be, and he did the song hangman. I really think that's where shit turned around for him. Then, sitting on his porch, trying not to think about whether or not he was going to pay rent or buy food; He lit the last half of a cigarette he had and wrote the song Dear Rappers. That's when everything really changed. He wanted to be like the rappers who were making it big, so he mimicked what they were doing and it almost killed him. Being broke, being as far in the mud. You can imagine, having nothing, he let all of his frustrations out in this one song. Calling out all rappers, not of a particular color, but of a particular content. The kind of content that is destroying young lives. I'm subbing in hopes you will go down the tom rabbit hole and seeing him what I see in him.

‼️NEW SUBSCRIBER‼️ TOMS STORY: Tom MacDonald is 100% independent! He’s had major record labels after him daily for at least 6 years and he turns them ALL down! After you listen to a few of his songs, especially the music industry and sad rappers, you’ll understand why. He writes all of his songs, makes his beats, and his girlfriend Nova Rockafeller shoots and edits all of his videos! That’s why dear rappers is so simplistic because they were just starting out really. He spent some time in college but that just wasn’t where his life was going. Yes that's Em's cadence. This is the first time the three of them have worked together. Tom had Dad on what I guess you could call a remix or reimagining of a song. Dax isn't on the album version of the song but it is otherwise the same song. Tom has done a song with Dad but that is otherwise it sadly. They are both super busy. Always doing one thing or another.
