My dad is still around but my mom passed when I was 12 years old. Every time i hear this song I think about him. He raised me correctly. I am now 21 working as a fleet mechanics making good money. I know at some point I will be in the same position and hopefully I do the right thing for my children

Thank you for your service and insightful reaction. Darius is like icing on an already excellent cake ❤️🔥💐 My brother in law was a Vietnam vet and I think of him everytime I hear this. We always made sure to support and show him love. That group of vets for decades has seemed forgotten between WW2 and the Gulf war vets. Then again few vets get all the flowers 🌹 they deserve.

I appreciate what your service meant for our country. I'm an army/airforce bratt ( my daddy served in both ), and I was a military wife for several years. Love you, my friend ❤. I always make sure my daddy and my man know that I appreciate and love them.

My uncle is a Vietnam vet. He was horribly injured by Agent Orange and has many health problems. My heart breaks for how they were treated when they got home. I’m so proud of him. Thank you for your service.

Thank you for your service! If you want to cry, cry. If you want to scream inside, talk it out. No man should have to hide their emotions, it'll tear you apart. Men are more of a man when he shows emotion than when the emotions are hidden.

I want to add to what you said about thanking veterans for their service. My grandfather served in Vietnam from 68 to 70 and he only came home in 70 because the marines considered him 100 percent war wounded and disabled frm the war and he always told me any time i see a Vietnam veteran to say welcome home as well as thanking them for their service because they were treated like shit when they came home. I'm sure other veterans from other wars were treated the same so make sure to say welcome home to them as well. It might not seem like much but something as little as that can help someone more than a lot of us will ever know.

I grew up with my dad always being at work never home, always wanting me to further my education so I could get a set, instead I get up on Monday go to work, pull up to 12 hours come home, around 5:30 in the morning help my wife get the kid ready for school then go to bed after that. Toward alcohol, i use to drink a 5th of whiskey a day to deal with the mental health, now its just beer 1 time a week after I had a mental breakdown 2 years ago haven't touched whiskey since just beer

This song is exactly my late husband. I lost him to suicide, left with our 5 children who miss him every second. Our lives were shattered that morning. This song breaks me. 😥😭

No wonder most men are so depressed All the things that they can't express They go to war, get thrown on the shelf Then go back to war with they mental health Then grab that bottle and ask for help Try to pull themselves out of hell Then fall back down and then realize That they gon' have to do it themselves This hit the hardest for me being a British veteran, then to have your partner walk out on you because you struggle with your demons and can't open up to them in the way they want because you love them and dont want them to carry your burden. so once again you are thrown back on the shelf
