36:06 That's definitely how Magic felt to me when I came to it from Hearthstone. Just keep playing, man. You'll get better, I promise 😄 One thing I really wish Arena had was some sort of actions bar like Hearthstone that shows things as they're played so you can just mouse over and see what happened instead of having to click around the board/graveyard to find the card that was just played. Feel like it'd make it a lot easier to learn new cards and keep track of what happened.

First off I wanna say I love you’re content and am super stoked you are playing mtg. You improved a lot throughout the video which was cool to see. You should also know that it hurt me seeing you make little mistakes/got so happy when I thought you were gonna order things wrong but played it correctly. You’re good at card games so I think achieving mythic is not unreasonable. Your comment about how long it takes to make a meta deck in arena is also very accurate. It’s a grind. I’m completely free to play on arena and man does it take time to get good decks. It’s great when there’s a meta deck that has few rares and mythics. Lastly a useful tip for this deck. Manually tap your lands (specifically caves of koilos) because this is how you hurt yourself to trigger your enchantment and that one bat that gains flying and vigilance. Caves of koilos can either tap for colourless and not hurt you or tap for one of your colors and hurt you. I don’t want auto tapper to get the best of you anymore.

It was killing me that everybody in chat said he needed more removal but nobody told him how gumdrop poisoner and foods worked, I figured his chat must have mtg knowledge but they seemed to have such a low level. I was shocked at how much better Rarran got over a couple games, he does have a great understanding of cardgames but just doesn't know all the gamepieces and what interactions are possible but I'm impressed, would love to see a buddy stream with CGB doing where CGB could explain some of the bigger intricacies of this game. Edit: I think Rarran could get to mythic using one deck and learning all the interactions maybe with some help but it's going to take some time, he's definitely capable once the learning time gets put in, I anticipate a grind up through the higher levels but he is capable if he does put that time in. Initially I would have thought no chance before watching this video but he's picking things up fast and seems to always have the interactions he just learned about at the forefront of his brain. I'm surprised because I didn't think hearthstone would translate this well because of no interaction. The part that Rarran is weakest is interaction, especially on the opponents turn, he doesn't think about it and doesn't know to leave mana open and do things on their turn when possible. That's the biggest skill he's going to need. This deck is good pick by GGB because it beats the cancerous half the meta in a very favourable matchup and doesn't have that much interaction but is still strong despite that. Edit: Also lol at this is an aggro deck with a teaspoon of midrange, my gameplan is to build up some threats over a few turns, get a lot of value out of triggers, refill my life, make tokens, dig for the right cards and grind out with value and flyers forcing them into unfavourable blocks and then should the game go super long, eventually I can recur my stuff and gain even more value with the case or virtue.

I don't think he'll have much trouble tbf I estimate sub 100 games to reach mythic considering the first climb is the easiest due to low mmr.
@bencheevers6693
@bencheevers6693 Ай бұрын
@@BombaJead I've heard so many different things about the hidden mmr system in arena but no definitive sources, same with matchmaking within events. Regardless you always if possible play within your rank until they expand the search so regardless the higher levels are going to be against players that know that you can use gumdrop as removal for instance or use instants and abilities on your opponents turn. It's not like his 12-8 record is going the the ratio for long. On the flip side, he's getting better quickly and can remember the things he learns and what other cards do when he sees them played against him. You need 48 more wins than losses for mythic according to record from plat up, if you win 60% then that's more than 200 games Edit: That's wrong, it's more complicated you hit rank floors and get free losses at points, I don't know how often that comes up but there are a lot of tiers so probably like 120 games or something like that at 60% win because 30% of your losses won't make you lose progress, there's probably more detailed information on this but 100 seems too low to get 48 steps when every win loss cycle not on loss protection is 2 games and that's going to happen at least 30 times in the climb as a guess. Also that's just the climb from plat to mythic, climbing up to plat is easier because your wins count twice but you'll still get win loss loss making no progress when not in loss protection and add 3 games to the tally

Bro his chat was literally yelling for him to cast an enchantment while the opponent is "tapper out" with a negate while they were missing the jhin on board who made the negate cost 1 mana 💀. Then I saw them typing oops. Also imo green is best for beginners to learn because you get to combat more often.

It's weird that people complain about the monetization. I am basically completely F2P and have been playing for years. I do dozens/hundreds of drafts every set, and can basically make whatever deck I want. The system is actually super generous over time. It's only an issue if you want to make a 50-rare deck on a fresh account. But if you draft you basically get the whole set from just that. With plenty of wildcards to fill in the cards you miss.

Rarran I love you and im not gonna rant about every mistake I saw you make in this stream like i did out loud as I was watching. But please i pray to baby jesus that you will stop keeping hands with only one land. The only occasion i would maybe concider it is if you have about 6 plays for one mana but even then that is such a cursed hand your always better off with a mulligan so my dear hufflepuff, be a ravenclaw and stop keeping a 66% chance of losing the game on turn 2 because those are your odds of not drawing a second land for your first draw. You are not monored haste aggro, your deck is about outlasting and outpacing, and you cant do either if you have gimped yourself from the outset when almost every play in your deck costs 2 mana. Its not even about believing, since even if you get that 1 land against the odds miracle, you will be very likely to miss a land drop on turns 3 and 4, which will put you massively behind for the whole game, as if you cant hit that fourth land you cannot play double 2 drops to outpace your opponents (or hit your offspring plays if your low on cards and need that extra bit of weight to your plays). Ok i did rant a little but it was mainly about this one mistake i didnt see you question at all.

You put in the time, you can do anything. I'll tell you what no one can do though. Reach mythic free to play. This game's business model is true cancer. Anyway, good luck. You'll probably get slapped at either gold or platinum. Never the less, I'm sure you'll do something.

i play this game since d&d expansion came out in 2021 and i never spend a dime, i focused on one deck and over the years i collected enough cards i can even play timesless and historic, you need a lot of time to get a collection without money but it is possible......

The economy in this game is soooo much better than hearthstone, it feels like progressing your collection is actually possible, can make more than 1 deck every 2 months if you do some daily missions every day

@@MHM21999 see? thats what im talking about, i needed about 1 month to finalize the turbo mill combo deck from d&d back then, and after that it just got better and better, the more you play the better your collection gets - no matter if you win or loose, do dailies and 5 wins (if you can) and there you go, thx for supporting my post man, i always feel alone bcuz everyone else says arena is pay to win, which it isnt, i dont have a single pet on my account, and i never encounter someone that also has no pet on the field....that is so weird tbh.

I dont get the argument that magic arena is expensive, I have a bigger collection in this game as a free to play account, then in Hearthstone.
