If you didn't do it yet, may I suggest making Sinigang from the Philippines. It's a sour soup containing your choice of protein be it pork, beef, fish or shrimp and your choice of vegetables. As Filipinos it's one of our go-to soups when temperatures go down a bit

Hey Matt, I am loving the soup series. It would be cool to have some chowder(s) in the mix, maybe a simple version with just few ingredients and another one more complex. Also, I'm in a hunt for a new cookware set, do you have any recommendations?
@Dankskees3 жыл бұрын
Yes! I've been eargerly awaiting his clam chowder recipe.

I've heard of something called a "bench scraper". Should definitely include it in your new cookware set, if you can find one.

If you cut king oyster mushrooms on a bias when making the planks the julienned pieces end up more tender due to the grain direction of the mushroom

THANK YOU FOR THE MSG !!!!!!! that's my favorite secret ingredient !!!! It gives soups and gravies that extra UMPH !!!! it's so sad that MSG got maligned by some crackpots years ago . About the hot and sour soup. Looks great . But in Houston Texas they add in LEMON GRASS , and SHRIMP !!!!! and I always add in some BLACK FUNGUS . Which I know sounds horrible but is actually pretty good.

Can you do pea and ham soup please? I don’t know if it’s a thing in the US but it’s my favourite comforting food over here. Dried split green peas with a ham hock stock. The gelatin makes it really thick, so good.

Just found your channel not long ago, and I’m really enjoying it. This may sound like a pain-in-the-ass question, but I have to ask - are you reusing or recycling all those mise-en-place containers? Please tell me you’re doing one of the two. That was kind of a mountain of plastic.

This is the one I’ve been waiting for! I have questions, though. 1. Are the written ingredients half of the recipe in the video (looks like it but I wanted to be sure)? 2. What’s with the extra egg you have in the written ingredients? I’m super excited about this one. I made the first onion soup you did (on like day 5 I think) and it was amazeballs. I can’t wait to use my chicken jello in this!
