The boat bent up o the rocks. I just watched Taylor the Nahamsha hiker's AT video. Same boat. I've seen so many of these hiker videos I'm starting to recognize things on the trail that seem to be common to all the videos.

Hey Kelly and Hello Mr Moose! Better than seeing a bear in my book! You saw a bear in the best way at the zoo in NYC! Conditions look like typical Maine in the near fall! Colorful but gray, calm but rugged, wet and dry, and always beautiful beyond words! That quick pic of you freezing up on the horn was priceless! We call that type 2 fun. Really glad you only broke your spirit during that fall. It looked pretty extreme on camera. I hope you had good luck in the crotches😂 they can’t be really treacherous up there I’ve heard. Bummer about your socks. They are guaranteed for life, you should have saved the ashes and got some new ones! 🙏 Thanks for bringing us along today. I hope tomorrow’s miles are kind. Keep truckin’ and be well. -Grateful

Wow! I just commented a moment ago on yesterday's video... hoping you would see a moose... and pronounce Rangeley. Nice rack ;-) Too bad about the weather... the views from the Saddlebacks is quite nice in good weather... oh well, no pain, no rain, no Maine... ouch, that fall must hurt. Crockers are next.

That still is a boat, but not very seaworthy! Just think of the flow needed to crumple it like that. Glad you weren’t hurt on that fall. I was thinking that if it was hailing bad you could tuck up under your pack like a turtle and hope the pack isn’t shredded. RIP socks. Think Darn Tough will still replace them?

@@kellyhays23 Yeah. One of my socks fell off the drying line and I ran it over with the mower. That one went in the trash. I get it. :D. What did you think of Katahdin's tablelands plateau. It's like another planet to me, amazing every time I see it.

@kellyhays233 жыл бұрын
Idk but boots suck. Sneakers for life
@TheJhtlag3 жыл бұрын
Getting back into day hiking and to make a long story short why I'm watching these videos, but yeah, I'm probably doing a 30 year time warp on equipment. I suppose a lot of boots have really been sneaker-like construction anyway for a while so they've converged I guess. Or maybe through-hiking prizes being ultra-lite at the cost of some protection? Anyway, got to wear out what I have which will pretty much be never.
@preacher15113 жыл бұрын
For the last several years, when the ATC does the thru hiker survey, the percentage of finishers wearing boots vs trail runners has steadily increased to the point that it was up in the high 70 percent for 2021. The technology in lightweight trail runners has improved SO much in the past 5 years. I've been hiking for 50+ years and NEVER thought I would abandon the traditional hiking boot (big Merrill Moab fan) but this past year I have read so many reviews and testimonials that I finally broke down and bought my first pair of trail runners. The wide platform of a runner is a good substitute for the high ankle support of a boot. And this is coming from someone who can trip over almost anything! I have a pair of Salomons and a pair of Hokas and love them both.

In the Alaskan triathlons Moose are the number one killer of athletes and their dogs.they will stomp the dogs to death. Because they got to close. If one is trying to get away from you let it go.if you start following one they will get nervous turn around and Chas you.and they will catch you as you are going around trees it will be knocking them down. They do not want you getting near them.and I heard someone on your post say they rather get near a Moose than a bear.they will not live that long thinking like that.lol.so Kelly if you are going to go following Moose I like your back pack.can you will that to me.lol.be safe.and I meant Iditarods.my bad.lol
