Hi Supriya! I'm so glad you put up this video because I've been keen to learn knee hoping for a while now! When I tried though, I wasn't able to achieve it - my hoop wasn't keeping momentum as it slid down to the knees. I'm using a standard Ezee hoop (40 inches in diameter from Hulahoops India)and it's quite heavy! Is this the right hoop, or should I looking at a different one? In the meantime, I'll keep practising! Thanks for doing what you do :)

Tara AK Hello Tara. I am glad that you are finding my videos useful. 40 size hoop is definitely very big for knee hooping. I should have mentioned that in the video( thanks to Sumit and you for the feedback here). Please check my reply to sumit’s comment below.

@@Hoopwithsupriya Thanks for getting back! I realised the hoop may have been too big when comparing visually to the one you were using in the video. Would you recommend a standard hoop or a polypro light hoop for this (and also keeping in mind the other hooping techniques that I'll be picking up over the next few weeks). Will look at a 35 inch, as suggested in your response to Sumit.

This is so helpful! Thank you. How do you control the speed while knee hooping? My hoop suddenly goes way too fast and it all ends up being so messy. ☹️
@Hoopwithsupriya3 жыл бұрын
The speed is dependent on how heavy or light your hoop is and the force with which you are pulsating your legs. If you are using a hoop that reaches your belly button(when kept vertically straight to the ground) and made of HDPE material you might find it slipping faster from your knees but if you learn on this hoop you would develop strong leg conditioning over a period of time.Posture matters a lot as well. Keep your spine straight and don't look at your hoop, try to feel the touchpoints on the knee and kick where it meets. Hope you find this helpful. Happy Hooping Tanvisha! Cheers!

Thank you so much ma'am for this tutorial! But ine thing,my hoop isn't as big as u had in your first video, it is somewhat smaller in diameter, but if i be consistent, even my hoop will work , right?
@Hoopwithsupriya Жыл бұрын
Need to know your height and weight and size of your hoop. So, the bigger the hoop it is better to learn waist hooping with that as it takes slower rotation giving your body more time to understand the movement and follow the rhythm. Smaller hoops will take fast rotations which means you have to push yourself more but yes if you stay consistent you can definitely keep practising with that over a period of time. Also disclaimer, no hooper is happy with just one hoop 😜

Hi ma'am this is so helpful. When we are starting front and back motion. It reaches the knee ?
@Hoopwithsupriya3 жыл бұрын
Don't worry with more awareness on what you are doing and the touch points of the hoop on your body you would be able to feel the hoop and do it. I suggest few more things that you should consider to learn this- Firstly, wear shorts- let the hoop feel the skin contact. When you feel the contact point on your skin you would be able to push it back and forth better. Secondly, correct your posture- Stand straight with chest out and shoulder rolled back. Remind yourself not to look down, keep your eyes fixed on some wall and focus more on understanding the touch points, speed of your hoop and your posture. Take few deep breaths before you try this next. Let me know how it goes. Hope this helps :)

Hi, please also describe which hoop is for knee hooping ? I have standard hoop HDPE 3/4, inches diameter, can I do it with this ? On body hoop and off body hoop, what is difference of it ? As sequencing of learning after waist hoop second lesson is knee hooping ? your teaching is much helpful for me, thanks )))
@Hoopwithsupriya4 жыл бұрын
Sumit Joshi Hello Sumit. Thank you so much for sharing your feedback. What’s the size of the hoop with you? You should practise with HDPE hoop itself and once you get the technique you can transition to a lighter and smaller hoop as it definitely makes a difference in keeping the hoop going on for much longer as you don’t have to kick as hard as you do with an HDPE. There is no sequencing for the tricks. We should learn the tricks in isolation alone and combine it with other tricks and find our own unique flow :)

My hoop diameter is 39 inches.
@Hoopwithsupriya4 жыл бұрын
Sumit Joshi That is a big size hoop for which you will have to kick with more force. If you have a smaller hoop with you I suggest you try with that as well to understand the difference. I learnt this trick on a 35 inch hoop. Hope this was helpful.

I see that you are using a hoop which does not reach your belly . my hoop reaches my belly and it keeps falling ... is it too big should i do it with a smaller one ?? I am stuck at day 3 of ur videos please advice 😊
@Hoopwithsupriya11 ай бұрын
Yes please, go for a smaller polypro hoop. You would find a huge difference. If the knees don't hold the strength to kick without hurting you back then it's a sign to switch o smaller and lighter hoop.
