God initiates especially when you're ready to receive Him. He prepares you to receive Him through prayer(basically talking, loving and thinking of Him as number one in your life), then your heart expands and burns for Him. Then He searches your heart out before He dwells there, you want Him to stay forever. You feel His love, compassion and joy for others in your own heart. You may feel a burning love towards a complete stranger coming from Jesus. He lives in you and through you. ❤.

Prayer is when the thirst of God meets our thirst. The church requires us to believe in the great mystery of our faith, to celebrate 🎉 it and live from it in a vital and personal relationship with the true God who is looking at us at all times. Humility is the foundation of prayer. We approach God not from the height of our 😤 pride and will, but humbly acknowledge that we don't know how to pray. It is the heart that prays. If the heart is rebellious our words of prayer are in vain. The ❤️ heart is our hidden center, which only the Spirit of God can fully understand. It is a place of encounter with good or 😈 evil.

It's so important in prayer to know who you're talking to. Before my conversion to the Catholic Faith, I was going through a difficult time in my life, and I "prayed" for help. I used to ask for "guidance and protection," but I didn't really believe in anything and had no idea if anyone or anything was listening. Although I was raised Jewish, I pretty much rejected religion and accepted worldly values. Then I had a personal encounter with Jesus, and fell in love. Knowing Him made all the difference. I've been Catholic now for over 30 years. I'm still madly in love with Jesus. He's amazing and wonderful. He has given us everything in the Catholic Church, even supernatural food to prepare us for Heaven. I thank God every day for my Catholic Faith.

Faith is all I have left. It is truly the only armor against the enemy. Jesus give me guidance please. The devil is attacking me. These past three years have been difficult on me. As a single mom things are hard on me both of my sons are autistic and I’m constantly struggling to provide the basic necessities for them especially now that I’m homeschooling them. People have put me down over my situation but God lifts me up! I suffered an heart attack two years ago and still battling lupus. Give me strength Lord as I constantly struggle to pay bills and constantly struggle to buy groceries for my children. BUT no matter what I face I will KEEP FAITH. Even though the devil wants me to give up. I will not! Jesus is King and I will serve him no matter my struggles.

@dianefrank3688 We had a nice Thanksgiving. I don't get to see one of my brothers much, so it was good to eat together. My son was home for the week, so I was overjoyed to spend time with him. I've seen you mention your son, and he seems to do a lot for you. It seems that God has blessed us both with loving sons. What a wonderful gift. I'm glad you had a good time eating with friends. VFW's are always fun. I don't get out much anymore other than mass. I like to be alone and quiet and to read a lot. I tend to get anxious sometimes, so I admire people who enjoy lots of friends. I hope your health is holding up. Mine seems okay after being hospitalized twice in six weeks. We can only give it to God and pray for healing. I will pray for your health also. Best regards!

Greeting! Brethren greetings! According to St Therese of Lisieux, Prayer is " prayer is a surge of the heart, it's a simple look turned towards heaven, it's a cry of recognition and of love trial and joy." St John Damascene's defines prayer as "Prayer is the raising of one's mind and heart to God or the requesting of good things from God." When we pray, we speak from our humble and contrite heart. Humility is the foundation of prayer. Prayer is a covenant relationship between God and man in Christ. prayer is when our thirst for God meet our thirst. Our is the place of decision, encounter, and covenant. Let us pray for Fr Mike Schmitz, all the clergy, all the Seminarians, and all of us in the CIY community including all our brothers and sisters in Christ. Amen!

A great analysis of what Jesus meant when He mentioned that we should not babble like pagans. The words uttered while in humility gets our prayers heard. "Our Father'' is an effective prayer because it covers most of our emotions and relationship with God. Being in obedience with God is important and we must not think of prayers as a way of giving orders to God. God thirsts for our love, and we thirst for Him. If we know the living water of Jesus, we never thirst. Thus, if we follow Jesus' way of prayer and worship, we will always be satisfied. "We don't have to seek God's attention. God is seeking our attention. Our heart is God's dwelling place." We are beggars before God. Even King David humbled himself while praying. Thank you so much for your work, Fr. Mike and Team Ascension. I'm praying for you all and for the fellow listeners. God bless

I never knew that there was such a thing as coming to God; in an unrighteous way; like you are the boss; and he's the foot lacky. But it does make sense; to why people might become Atheists with this mentality. It never even dawned on me. Now I know. Now it inspires me to write. Jesus talking to the woman at the well. He gave her his identity; that he was not a foot lacky; though at the last supper; he yielded - and they washed each other's feet. But that was because: the Passover Lamb had to be washed. This is the identity of God On two feet standing before you: He healed the sick; no what kind of sickness. That identified who he was; in order to boldly make a proclamation; GO AND SIN NO MORE. YOUR SINS ARE FORGIVEN. He had to identify himself; and the more important aspect was to save you of your sins; BUT HE HAD TO IDENTIFY HIMSELF FIRST; THEN YOU KNEW.

November 25, 2023 Please, I am looking for people to take a moment and pray with me for Souls in Purgatory. Can you help? According to tradition, St. Gertrude the Great was told by Our Lord that each time she piously recited the following prayer, it would release 1,000 souls (or a vast number) from their suffering in purgatory: Eternal Father, I offer You the most precious blood of thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal Church, for those in my own home, and in my family. Amen. In her account of another vision, St. Faustina describes Purgatory as a "great crowd of suffering souls" undergoing purification. Further, she says that the souls are "praying fervently, but to no avail, for themselves; only we can come to their aid" (Diary, 20)

The fruit of prayer is our relationship with God, who calls us to do His will. Sometimes, praying for something we want (intercessory prayers) may not be part of God's plan for us. Trust in God - you may not get everything you want, but He will always give you what you need. ❤️
