Only one category of people in India is immune to the taxman's wrath: the salaried class. This is because the employer is responsible for deducting tax at source and remitting it to the government. This group has served as the government's bakra (scapegoat) for collecting income tax for decades (I-T).
Businessmen, self-employed professionals, and, of course, corporations all have ways to avoid paying taxes, but the salaried guy does not, at least not on his salary.
One most common reason is that the salaried class lacks the Knowledge of Income Tax.

Hey, great work.. just had one doubt- say in a block of a week I traveled to three destinations ( A to B then B to C then C to D) and returned from D to A.. can I use the total cost of travel fare when claiming LTA exemption?
