Rick, I haven't commented before. but I have been following since you began this journey. I wish you the very best outcome regarding your health issue and I'm looking forward to your return. I am 29 days into the carnivore life and was inspired, in no small part, by you. You're my #1 champion!

Good luck Rick. I don't know what it's like in your area but I went to the emergency department at Bournemouth hospital a few weeks ago and it turned out to be sludge in the gallbladder. I had to wait in the A&E for 9 hours but was booked into the surgical department the next day and the only reason I didn't have surgery that day was because it was caused by another underlying health condition. It might be worth going to ED and maybe playing on the pain aspect in the hopes they book you in straight away.

70 days is a massive achievement. I would echo the going to A&E if you're at all concerned. I had a recent experience where something went a bit wrong and I got a nasty infection. They kept me in to fix the infection and whilst I was there as I was in the system and they'd got rid of all the nasties they decided to fix something else too. Quite a major op that I would have had to wait months possibly years for.

Hello Rick - Health is everything so we are 100% behind you on getting things corrected. In the meantime, I would personally still be interested in learning more about your progress and experience with things you have introduced during this “no sugars” path such as: • Red light therapy • Exercise results • Recap on major milestones you’ve accomplished I was also personally impressed with your video on “Dressing Like a Grown-Up” because I have traditionally been a jeans (and/or) shorts and a t-shirt type of guy when not working in a formal office, but I would like to step it up a bit with the more grown-up look on a budget. Your demonstration of mix-and-match clothing was great and showed what works and what does not. If you have the ability to further that video (even if it is just with what you already have for the grown-up look) that would also be interesting, at least to some of us. 😊 Once again, thank you for all you do, and know that you have lots of people out here who value what you have done in sharing your journey. Thanks again, and have a great day!

Hi Rick, I know you take more notice of what other people say but please read up and take notice of what the doctors say. I’m not surprised your gall bladder Is playing up, it can’t cope with all the fat your eating and if you have to have it removed, as I have told you before, you can’t continue eating all the fat in your diet, especially at one sitting. Listen to people who have had their gall bladder removed, not just the gall stones. Good Luck, we will be thinking of you xx

Just go straight to A&E they will assess you & decide whether its an emergency case then they can book you in there & then. At least they will do a scan to find out & you will have some indication about what's going on with it without the wait.

I had problems for many years without realising I had gallstones. After a particularly bad flare up I was admitted to EAU where I was found to have developed acute pancreatitus due to the gallstones becoming trapped in my bile ducts. It became very serious very quickly. Just a warning. Don't leave it if you have fare ups with extreme pain, seek medical attention at an a&e department.

Honestly Rick, I have been watching you for 15 years through all of your different hobbies and life stuff and I would be more than happy to keep watching any video you put out. Most of us are not here just for the carnivore stuff. So I hope to see you sooner than later and best of luck getting the gallbladder dealt with! As an American I think it’s great that you guys have a free healthcare system but I have heard how backed up it gets there and Canada which seems to force most people into paying for surgery sooner. I’m sure if you put up a go fund me you could raise $10,000 or close to it in no time at all and I would gladly pitch in.

You have to trust the process -- things are happening for you behind the scenes so that you can emerge with PERFECT health in a not so distant future. I reached my goal weight this week. This was after a long journey that started in 2021 when i was introduced to the keto diet. A bunch of people at my local supermarket were drastically losing weight and they all went keto. Then and there I began my visualization process of me at my ideal weight. That process continued to nurture the seed that took 3 years to germinate.

@rickvanman I appreciate that! Thanks for keeping us entertained for the last couple of months. Hope your tummy is starting to feel better. I'm recovering from esophagitis where I had pain in my stomach and other parts of my gi. My issue was not carnivore related, but rather spice, dairy, and medications. I can only imagine the pain you've been feeling. Yikes!

Hi Rick, I'm so sorry to hear this. You must be disappointed, since you were having such a great time. If you decide to pay for private healthcare, I will be happy to pitch in to cover the costs. Even though you're pausing carnivore for the time being, I think we'd all love to hear from you occasionally to know how you're doing even if it isn't carnivore-related. But no pressure; do whatever makes you happiest. Wishing all the best for your health and wellbeing, and with your dedication, I'm sure you'll emerge from this even more vigorous!

Hi Rick I don’t mind saying it, I didn’t believe in your journey on full carnivore. I was genuinely worried for you as your complexion and demeanour looked to me like it was changing by the day. A few non carb veggies on the side to help digest all that protein may have got you further down the road. We have all been watching with interest and the “I told you so’s “ can jog on. I hope everything is ok and we all wish you a speedy recovery. Most important thing and message is clear consumption of processed and unecessary sugars and overdoing carbs will kill us all!

I appreciate you’re trying to change your life for the better, but you have to make sure that your body can Cope and the gall bladder when it flares up at times you have been there.

Genuinely sorry this has happened Rick because I know it meant a lot to you and you are dedicated. One person has commented that a trip to A and E may be a good idea, if you mention the pain severity you may get a quicker scan to see what’s wrong with your gall bladder. Also if it comes to an op for a stone they can sometimes laser blast them although it will still mean private for speed. Please don’t forget the podcast I sent you I’m certain you will learn so much, we can all learn from it whatever our eating habits. Sending you a big virtual hug 🤗 xx

I'll miss these daily vlogs, but I completely understand. These 70 odd days have been great and I'm very glad you've improved your overall health, also increasing muscle whilst losing some fat. As you said in one of these videos, I expect you've added many years to your overall lifespan in just these last couple of months. Hopefully your gallbladder issues can be properly sorted this time round and I'll be very interested to hear what the Doctors think of your carnivore lifestyle and its successes for you. Hopefully they don't tell you to start eating something you know your body cannot handle! I look forward to any update videos you feel like uploading whenever you get time, but relaxing and lowering overall stress levels are likely going to help, along with low intensity exercise (like the walking) and good sleep, which hopefully continues for you! All the best, Rick🙂

All the best Rick! I think you've made the right decision in getting this attended to right away. I had a feeling that the donar kebab and the apple cider vinegar would rumble things up, and by your admission, things changed in the bathroom. I'm assuming that your stools were pale/clay colored? Others have suggested a visit to A&E which I would agree as the next move to get things expedited. Although I understand your need to focus on this right now, if it's not too much, could you give us a once a week update ? Say, every Sunday? It would be good to know how you are doing....take care of yourself! xx

Try not to let the medical “professionals” diagnose your current diet as the reason your having issues. Keep your diet “on the down-low” as they will try to fill your head with their beliefs 😊
@Kestrel19714 ай бұрын
Right... because 10 minutes scouring KZbin for every fringe idea from every quack is far more important than listening to ACTUAL MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS. Believe it or not, someone who has done an undergrad, pre-med, medical school, internship, specialisation and has years of experience in their field *DOES ACTUALLY KNOW MORE THAN A LAYMAN* about their field. The carnivore diet has been roundly criticised by medical professionals for years - studies show it's fine as a SHORT-TERM diet, but it's NOT healthy long-term; it's a recipe for heart disease, stroke, poor gut health and nutritional deficiency. A healthy diet requires around 60% of the intake of calories to be carbohydrates, and any diet that goes under around 2,000 calories per day for an average adult male is going to trigger a starvation response where the body BURNS MUSCLE to reduce its caloric needs - this is an evolutionary adaptation to prolong life because muscle requires constant energy to maintain and fat does not. The body will resist starvation by sacrificing MUSCLE. To be blunt: LISTEN TO ACTUAL MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS - they *DO* know what they're talking about.
@rickvanman4 ай бұрын
Great advice! Indeed, it is going to involve some awkward conversations 😊👍
@SoupDragon634 ай бұрын
@@Kestrel1971 The thought of putting my life n the hands of someone who has spent years being indoctrinated by big pharma before being unleashed on the public is simply terrifying. Are you a "medical professional" ? If so it is obvious that you have had next to no training in nutrition, as is the norm. The body will not burn muscle until the supply of fat is used up, it will run on ketones, and no offence to Rick he still has plenty of fat to burn. You also seem to be missing the point that Rick suffers terribly with the consumption of carbohydrates and no doctor has ever been able to help him with that. My mother had the same problem and I now see the advice given by her doctor was the opposite of what was needed causing decades of pain and suffering, a bit like when she had an adverse reaction to statins and the doctor told her to double the dose!! The same statins that no doubt escalated my fathers dementia, his prostate operation failed and his brain never recovered after the anaesthetic. The doctors finished him off with midazolam courtesy of Matt the murderer hancock in '21. So to be blunt: I suggest you wind your neck in and find a different channel to watch, btw the longest water fast? over a year...an extreme case of a very fat person, no food for a year.
